YES! Thank you PC, I was hoping they would do that! She needs a place
that will treat her right and it wouldn’t hurt if she and Alex became a thing
too. I feel that the standards that SG-1 set should be a RL one, I’ve heard
some lousy stories from what the services from so many countries have
pulled on their own people much less those that helped.
I expected it would be Smoke or Flame that stopped her from attacking
Taritha, I can tell Cap. Chardis is going to take a bit of time to accept the
changes but I’m sure she will. No doubt she thought Taritha was trying
to pull a fast one against Catia for the Romani’s benefit.

“They just took my bedroom”.
Oh, poor baby. Haven’t you ever slept on a couch before?
Not as comfy as a bed, but doable.
One learns to make do with what’s available.
Learned from my father while we lived in Massachusetts,
“Use it up and wear it out
Make it do or do without”.
Always did crack me up to hear people complain like that, I’ve
slept on a bare floor and more than once in a low-backed wood
chair despite my bad back. My idea of camping was a pup tent
and a tarp. I often (by accident) nap in my desk chair as well,
I guess I’m just one of those people. My father always told me
I would of made a good infantry man lol.
I think some of it is that all the Romani seem to have a
protruding jaw and the fur coloring is distinct. They do
tend to dress a certain way too. I’m mostly guessing I’d
have to do a re-read to be sure.
All of them seem to have a longer wider jaw line and darker fur coloring http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-704/ and on
By the way the Clan head is wearing green shear tights.
OK, I hadn’t noticed the darker tinctures or thought about the jawline
possibly being consistent. I had noted that the Romini have the same
random skin patterns as other clans and in various colors.
My idea is the solution to a couple of problems with PC’s grav technology. One is where does the grav force
originate? The other is, where does the energy come from?
Tackling the 2nd first, we have the problem of being able to accelerate masses without having a source of energy.
However you do it, to accelerate mass requires energy. There is also the problem of using the grav technology to
provide power. Where does that energy come from? My solution is that the empire scientists – purely by accident –
stumbled upon a method of extracting energy from the quantum foam, also known as zero point fields. Now to get
around the 1st law of thermodynamics – energy can neither be created nor destroyed but only changed in form –
what is actually happening is the energy is being drawn from an alternate universe in the multiverse. The energy
appearing in our universe is being drawn from an adjacent universe. Since there is no net gain of energy in the
multiverse as a whole, the 1st law is not violated. Of course the two universes experience a gain or loss of energy
but that is all right. Theoretically, entities in the other universe (or AN other universe) could be siphoning
energy from ours in the same way. From the viewpoint of the multiverse there is no net energy gain or loss and so
1st law is not violated.
Now, as to the 1st problem, i.e. where the gravity force is coming from, in effect it originates in that other
universe where gravity is MUCH STRONGER. You see, one of the problem physicists have with gravity is that it is
so weak. Of all the known forces, gravity is the weakest. To be sure, it seems to be able to act over much longer
distances but it is still weak. Think of how small a magnet is needed to lift a mass such as a screw in opposition
to the gravity field generated by the earth. The earth is over EIGHT THOUSAND MILES (almost 13,000 kilometers) in
diameter! And yet even very weak magnets can overcome its gravity. What if the adjacent universe from which our
friends in the TGW universe are siphoning energy has MUCH stronger gravity? In essence the grav tech is opening
portals to that other universe through which the stronger gravity “leaks”? So the grav fields apparently generated
by the empire’s tech is entirely natural! They just originate in a different “nature” than ours.
Your 2nd (1st) is spot on, that’s exactly the way it works. I’m thinking
about having greenies protesting against it’s use. “If you’re pulling
energy from another universe, you’re warming ours up and cooling
theirs down! We have to stop using gravity for power before we heat
up our universe beyond recovery!
As to your first, the scientists are still trying to figure it out. This was an
accidental discovery, after all. In my imagination, all the drive is doing is
magnifying the existing gravity produced by the emitter plate. No need to
draw gravity from anywhere else.
How would you feel about, in your copious free time, creating some
character reference pages on the model I use in the “characters” section?
Cherry, Jamie, dragonflies, Kelly, etc.?
While I have the time, with my daughter and grandchildren still living with us I don’t have ready
access to my computer. I have to ask for time on it to pay bills a couple of times a month. The
three of them pretty much take up my 2nd & 3rd bedrooms and 2nd bath. Not sure how much
longer they’ll be with us but getting to my computer is problematic. Plus, while I’m not as sick
as I was in July, I still start feeling bad after I’ve been up more than 45 minutes or so. The scooter
the VA issued me helps but I still can’t be up for long. At least I’m not losing weight any more.
Still only eat because I know I’m supposed to. I just don’t seem to get hungry. I try to eat a good
(big) breakfast and then eat more if I get the notion. Think I’ll have a batch of yaki-mandu for supper.
15 minutes in the air fryer. Yum!
Who can say that the universe the drives have tapped into is a brand new
(in the scheme of thing) universe where nothing exists but raw energy. In
the multiverse theory all things that can happen, has happened and to find
a universe that is strictly comprised of energy, no matter, is in the realm of
possibility. Basically the big bang happened, but nothing came of it. The entire
universe of energy just sitting there, going to waste, and your universe
has found a way to put it to use. Not bad, not bad at all!
You already have cars that can power the homes, Space ships that only need
a small battery to get the ball rolling and can run as long as the creature
comforts of the crew are met, the sky’s the limit! You could power an entire city
just by building a house-sized anti-grav coated building with a huge number
of grav drives(big grav car engines) to generate power.
I’d volunteer myself but I’m taking care of both my wife and father
and currently 2 very pregnant cows, as well as dealing with my own
health issues. I can work on it but it’d be erratic I’m afraid.

Based on this snippet of conversation, I need to find it (somewhere) and read it again, see if it’s the story I remember from Way Back Then.

Actually I read “The Gods Themselves” back in the 80s. It was a SciFi book club selection.
I reckon that was part of the genesis of my idea for where the energy comes from.
Hey, Petercat? Might not be a bad idea to start up a minor wiki to sort out all of the
different species and races of people’s in your universe? Just a thought…
Wow it’s been 25 years since I did any web design…
I wouldn’t know where to start. Hell, java kept me up
late at night just because EVERYBODY wanted water
effects on their home page…
My sister wanted animated ducks in a pond for her

loading time… sigh….

Was it her dress that marked her as Romani? She
has none of the piercings common to her clan.

Do it like the army.
You just volunteered as you are the perfect person for the job.
Heh careful about making suggestions to military men, it’s
