useless nit-pick.. sheriff Ace would not have fired behind any one,,. the muzzle flash / blast would have hurt all three ladies,. and that is WITH ear protection.!!
Kaitana would have it the worst,, with powder burns (shirt / hair on fire), and blast damage to her head an shoulder…
again me just ‘nit-picking’ .. so we will say he stepped right behind her an fired over her shoulder, then stepped back,. out of frame… https://youtu.be/CSD2GDrJTSI
Oh…. Damn.
This is the worst mistake I’ve ever made. Here it is, 0400, and I’m up correcting it.
AAaaargh! I freakin’ KNOW better. Especially with a big-bore revolver!
Thanks for pointing it out so I can fix it.
I need to spend some time here: http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-779/
Listening to music, enjoying the visual, and relaxing until I get my mojo back.
Yeah, that’s the ticket!
I dunno … you don’t always have the luxury of time to position yourself optimally, and this was an emergent situation. But I agree, I like the second version better. And even if this isn’t Out West, it’s nice to see someone with the title Sheriff carrying a revolver, even if it isn’t a Peacemaker.
Yeah, for now, hide the fact that the Empire is one sparsely-populated planet and part of a heavily-populated one (and less populated than it was a few years ago). And has a big advantage in transportation tech (and a few others) but that advantage is really rather shallow — the older larger races are going to have SOME tech that’s thousands of years ahead of the Empire.
Not sure I fully agree. The one behind and to Venus’ right looks more than a bit dismayed to my eyes. It is axiomatic that the Catman will not tell us what her expression signifies – smug SOB that he is 😉 – so it is up to us to interpret his images. The fem behind and to the sheriff’s left looks rather pleased to me. I interpret the dichotomy between the two fems’ expressions as T’Chaka’s favorite being dismayed at her pending loss of status while the less favored plaything is pleased at what would appear to be her imminent emancipation from a – to her – utterly repulsive term of service.

My take on the expressions of those standing behind the Sheriff:
Expected. Oh my God! About time. Expected. YAAAYYYYESSSSSSS!
In general they seem at worst surprised, certainly not unhappy.

What say, Catman? Am I in the ballpark?
Nita is the maid (outfit)
Kaitana is the other..
