Urrgh. I’ve been busy fixing all of the things that the computer
tech fucked up. He once told me “I won’t break it. I know what I’m doing.”
Well, among other things, a fan shroud on the side cover was pressing
against the graphics card power lead. Mister I-know-what-I’m-doing forced
the cover on and cracked the GPU circuit board. Not economical to repair.
There’s more things he did wrong, but I’m pissed enough. Arrogant, lazy,
ignorant little shit with no work ethic. More chip than shoulder.
You just described every IT I’ve ever met save one! I about shocked
on kid by what I knew, then he started calling me old man… Punk
damn near bounced off the bottom step! heh. The 20 ft tall bag house
has 12 15ft X 2.5 ft bags with air-controlled vanes that had to open
/ close in sequence to dump the dirt out, he got it ALL screwed up.
Wasn’t up on hex I guess…
I hope you made him pay for the graphics card!
I’m sorry you have so bad experience with IT people. I work in IT,
there was a time I used to assemble and service PCs, and I can’t
imagine anyone to be so careless…
In good news, I’ve had a copy of Command and Conquer –
The First Decade for years, but never could get it to work,
as it was made for Windows XP. I just bought a Windows XP
computer on ebay, and it installed and runs perfectly. I found a
patch which lets me run it without the DVD, as well. I can play
Yuri’s Revenge again! This is going to be a satisfying weekend.
I know of an XP emulator for win 10, but it’s a bit dicey.
That works MUCH better! Gawd,
I haven’t played that in forever!

We’re down to our last one.
Youngest daughter got him as a kitten
December of her senior year of college.
Then moved 1000 miles south.
“Can you keep him for me for a few months till I get settled?
I’ll take him back when I come home for Christmas.” Christmas
came, and went. Six more months – “Nope. He’s now lived with
us and the other kitties longer than he did with you, and it
isn’t fair to subject him to your long work hours alone.
He’s ours now.”
That was 17 years ago. He’s old now, but we’re giving him the
best life we can. But it hurts too much when they pass, and
we’re too old now to start with another kitten that may outlive
us. The last one was at least 23 when he passed. He was at
least 4 when we, um, inherited, him from some neighbors who
moved and sold after the dad died.
I understand fully, I was mostly joking. I’ve got places and people
I can contact, or I did, people kept dumping their unwanted on our
road here. At one point I counted 30 and lost count. When we moved
in my father was feeding them! So I had to act. 7 live traps and 4
shelters from all over the place, but some were too feral to save…
That is why every cat we have gets 2 field mods – fertility and
claws deleted. Originally we just went with spay/neuter but I
got tired of the furniture getting torn up. Plus I’ve read that
female cats live longer if they never bear kittens.
I was thinking about both as well, although the option
to do it before she got preggers is shot now. My sister
keeps telling they can abort her and fix her at the
same time, but I won’t have the cash until next month.
I’m glad to see at least the police are happy to see them, it’s the
“gimmie” bunch that’s going to be the issue. T.A.N.S.T.A.A.F.L!

Gotta love da tall ones! heh… The guys used to give me crap
for liking tall girls, I’d just say, I had a thing for mountain

As far as target practice, I suggested to my son to use
old prescription bottles filled with symtec, not a big bang,
but you know when you’re dead-on!
I may have to go with an injection mold setup too,
something as simple as that costs a mint to FDM print!
jeez… it’s the supports that eat a lot of plastic, I’m
having to tinker to reduce that, frustrating, every time
I think I got it, I still waste 1/4 of the plastic. Or the
print fails and wastes it all. I’m on my 3rd print-head
because of that on the Sovol…
I’ve got the plans for a way to recycle waste plastic into filament,
it’s the grinder to turn it into small enough bits to run it through
that extruder that’s costly, think a miniature car grinder like some
scrap yards use. Just got to keep the scrap separated by type
and color.
Can’t mix them without some pricey equipment,
everything I’ve read says no don’t mix the
different types. Sadly, mixing the same plastic
in different colors results in a grey ugly filament.

on my (homemade) vacuum table for
weird shapes.! like round half’s and
(when done right.) small bottles..
