Taritha has much-needed intel that needs to be shared asap
She’s heading back to Earth yes, but she’s going to see admiral
Aristle first while the Pride continues to the next wormhole to
Earth. If Catia is the target, the more fleets they can get into
the system, the safer it will be.
Ah so it’s not a vacation trip as much as a “meet-n-greet”
for new members, I’m a bit surprised they don’t have a
military sqad along, just in case…
Taritha must want to go into detail ASAP about the hornies
and the new colony on the Buns planet with Teresa and
such, and the fact the core / Motha is planning to attack
Catia or another planet that’s friendly. Plus the FTL is no
longer a “maybe.” it would be nice if they could get a 100%
on which planet was the target would help.
That’ll be a fast, hard trip, since Esmay has only about 12
hours of life support, give or take. Going solo might stretch
it a bit, but not by that much.
The only logical target is Catia as it is the only world they have a
usable star map for. If they ever had star maps for the other fringe
worlds they were obtained so long ago they are now obsolete.
What they don’t have is accurate orbits of the Catia planets so they
cannot jump closer than the outer planets where the risk of collision
is low enough to be acceptable.
With a life support time of 12 hours for two people,
Tabitha should have at least twenty hours;
and she could need every bit of it – especially
if she has to go the Earth to meet the Admiral.
A smaller craft can travel the distance much faster than
a larger, heavier ship, plus it takes less to decelerate
to a safe speed through the wormhole. A wormhole
trip is fast, but the distance between wormholes is
what takes the most time. Once she reaches the Admiral
she can send out scouts to the rest of the fleets while
Taritha replenishes Esmay and continues to Earth.
One of the larger Toby’s would have been a better
choice, but Esmay was all they had. Aquatane is
next to Catia, then it’s a straight shot to Earth.
Of course that day earlier arrival of Tabitha gives Catia enough
time to set up a defensive system for when the FTL fleet arrives.
I am tipping the Catia’s Pride arrives just before or just after
the FTL fleet.
But before we see that battle I think PC will show us the core’s
attempt to recover the ores that have not arrived on schedule
from the bunny world
Why won’t they show up in a spaceship to show the might of the Empire?
Going around on bikes could work when the “Empire” was new and small,
but now, it’s… strange.
I’m sure there are some new crews in training, as they are expanding
the fleet rapidly and they could use one of them without disrupting
security or anything important.
Some of the most important people in the interstellar empire showing
up like tourists to explain new members of the Empire how they should
behave. It doesn’t seem right.
oh, lets see..
you show up (Invade) and show your might
an you want to enforce your doctrine.!
you have instant enemies,. or distrust.
BUT. if you want allies from an already
established area, you send in a small unit to
find out how they feel about it…
They are basically taking a tip from the wolf pack
and going out in the most non-threatening way
they can, and there’s more than a few in that
group can easily deal with any kidnapping attempts…
Looking closely in panel one,
it looks like the chain is up in the first section,
but is pulled back to the 2nd post on this side
of Nate’s bike, allowing access.
But yeah, in panel two it goes into his bike. Oops!
If you zoom in you can see the chain intersecting Nat’s bike
in both P1 and P2. It’s not easy to see but it’s there. There’s
no chain behind Jonathan’s bike because there is no corner post.
Okay. I don’t understand. Why is Taritha hopping
a ride with Esme instead of staying on the Pride.
Clearly I missed something earlier.
I think the answer to that is the size of the wormhole.
Too small for the Pride to use, but large enough for Esmay.

More if she sleeps most of the way…

Problem is, she’s Catian. Higher metabolic rate. Even asleep, likely cuts it even more than 20 hours…

i just realized, (missed it before…)
the bikes rode through a chain.!
the lot has a chain on two sides.
except behind Johnathan’s bike.

Phantom chain?
