Damn the Colonel is a much better man than I thought.
He may be a donkey in his personal life, but he seems at
least willing to listen to his staff. Not all do.
Yes Lieutenant for the good of the Empire. Ha Ha
Maybe as a Colonel he was, but I’ve noticed that when you put
a star in a man’s head it kicks brain cells out to make room.
Same could be said for non-military people as well…
I should clarify based on the Pierce-Arrow comments earlier.
The top story is a continuation of the one started in http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-517/.
It happens on Lamia before the Catian War.
The car is diesel, maybe that fifth pipe is an air injector
to clean up the exhaust?
Or a vent pipe for fumes from the interior, it can’t be an intake,
those would face forward. If it’s a Lamia design, who knows (but
you) how it was setup, since it’s not a replica car, I’m sure the
engine is far more advanced than our 1920-1930s designs. Still, I
love the look, I’d just hate to drive it through a DQ drive-thru heh.
Oh, I am such a moron! I thought the guy in the first panel from
yesterday looked familiar. (loud forehead slap!) Ow, well this is
the story that he never told the Sgt. then. I am surprised The
Colonel did this then. He must of gotten grumpier with age,
or dumber… BIG mistake for any leader.
HA! What goes around, comes around LT. it could be worse,
there could be 3 gals after you! Drink plenty of water,
take deep, slow breaths, and for gawds sake, relax! heheheh…
Very true, I made that comparison last year too, took me
a while to remember the title though. I still love the way
he decided to go on an adventure just for the hell of it!
Ah, “Glory Road”. My favorite of all Mr Anson’s works
(just ahead of “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress”).
“Dum vivimus viviamus”, ” While we live, let us live!”.
Hell of a name for a sword.
Yeah I thought so too, my last copy was in paperback, sadly it didn’t
survive the move to where I am now, damn leaky box-truck roof…
I had read it and about 12-13 other’s so often the binding would
break down. I’d read a few chapters before bed, or during my lunch
beaks at work. I was a natural speed-reader, so I’d miss tiny details,
like Marise’s hand on Kima’s butt heh.
i think i have all of R.A.H. i have multiple shelfs in various
rooms and two different states,. then i have duplicate titles,
of a few.. IE: Glory Road. i have with me a 65 hard copy,
and two soft, (64 cover, 67 cover.)
I didn’t have as many, few I’d take out of the house in hard-cover, but I know
what you mean! I just about cried when I opened the water-soaked box
and they were limp and melted together… I only manage to save out of the
40+ was 3 and those were my wife’s romance novels.
I think Marise is going to end up as the first recruit if they
join the Empire. The way she’s talking pretty much confirms it
in panel 8, reminds me a bit of many Dr. Who companions just
before they go with him/her.
(sigh….) Ok, I’ll be the Bad Dad perv here…….
This situation reminds me of the joke about the
tired traveler, who had been sleeping like a rabbit.
Rabbit? Yeah, rabbit……jumping in and out of holes
all night….. Com’on, someone had to go there.
Ok. ‘Nuff said. A’y’all can fill in your own details.
And I submit myself to your pun-ishment.
Yeah I hear that, my oldest had colic real bad for the
first 4 months, never been so exhausted in my life…
worst part was, it was my turn to be on call…
Aw damn… I’ve been collecting the stuff to make it safe for me to
use one, face shield, fume mask, rubber apron, long gloves and a lab
coat, I’ve got 1/3 of it so far… They tell me it’s pretty likely my kidney
will grow again after a few years, before the tumor it was the same
size as my heart. So hopefully it won’t matter when, oh… maybe when
I’m 70 heh. this is the one I have saved on my list, it’s a combo: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0892LC3XJ/?coliid=I3RI3UCZMSFBDB&colid=1PBKKBZ5UEQOD&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it
My experience has been that if you have a choice, dealing with
the factory is always better than dealing with Amazon.
I know that with companies like Western Digital and Crucial, if
you ask their Customer Service for a discount, they will usually
give you one around 10%, making it cheaper than Amazon.
Never hurts to ask.
I’m only looking at that one since it comes with the wash/cure unit,
it’s totally free, on the factory page it’s $200+ but with my luck
it’ll be gone by time I’m ready. You KNOW I’ll want to try it asap!
I really like the look of the semi-clear resins, I have an
idea for a lithograph setup using the different colors I’m
itching to try. Might be a hot item for new-born mothers.
FDM just isn’t clear enough for it.
After our company leaves (hopefully shortly) and after my eyes heal
(hopefully not too many months from now) I hope to get back into 3D
modelling and printing with my FDM printer. Right now I cannot get
into the room without asking in advance. My daughter and grandkids
have totally made themselves at home. {sigh} Not wishing to start
anything I just bite my tongue knowing it will end some day.
One things for sure: the guys back on the ship are going to alternate
between razzing them and sulking in envy. Not that I’d expect these
two to ‘kiss and tell’, but I expect the girls to at every opportunity.
I’m wondering what’s happening with the Pterans now. I don’t think
the Terrans ever got formal permission for them to land, restock
‘reaction mass’ and do repairs. Of course, since they ‘borrowed’
the radio, that may have taken place off camera.
They said it was up to the top alpha, since it was so late
planet-side they were going to meet the next day. I’d say
it’s a great way to distract the men from having to wait!
I did have an awful thought, please don’t let this be an elaborate
trick to trap the men, after a heated night they wake up with 3
armed men in the rooms pointing their weapons at the men’s faces…
Damn the Colonel is a much better man than I thought.

Most people are like that, to one degree or another.
Neither 100% perfect nor 100% imperfect.

I’d Fave this page if I could.
Different cultures, different customs.
Kinda reminds me of Heinlein’s “Glory Road”.
Very true, I made that comparison last year too, took me
a while to remember the title though. I still love the way
he decided to go on an adventure just for the hell of it!
Or how they “killed” the first monster they had to fight.
That HAD to be gross to say the least!

Is that Colonel the same guy who, as a General,
didn’t know how to duel?
Yes, same scar, I had missed it at first too, this is a recap
of what followed after they pranked the Colonel/General.
duel starts at TGW-463.
and the colonel / Wilson
starts at TGW-517..
heh,, tasty cupcake.!
Heh, I loved that dress too…
damn now I have a taste for cupcakes…..
:p

Waking up crying every two hours.
Yeah I hear that, my oldest had colic real bad for the

Yeah, those two are NOT getting much rest 😉

Try sending that link to their CS and ask for the same deal.
