What would the Empire’s response be, Eitha? The empire would do as
you asked. They might look in on you from time to time but if you
wanted no contact the Empire would honor your wishes.
Be careful what you wish for, young rabbit.

Yeah, I understand her feeling in the matter, but we all know
it would be a bad idea. There’s nothing to stop the core from
coming back and doing more mining, finishing the job they
      started.

If they wanted to be left alone, wouldn’t the empire help
them with that? Getting the Core to leave them alone too?

Ah, I doubt they would, mostly leave the “door” open in
case they change their minds. I can’t blame them if they
did though, obviously they were done VERY wrong by the
core. I think it was a “what if” question, to see the reaction.

Cissy’s got a lot of wisdom there. Anyone who says they never had
any stress in their marriage is either deluded, or in denial.
Or so oppressed that they’ve been brainwashed.
Or they’ve only been married a very, very short time.

I remember one pastor at a marriage conference telling about a
couple who came to see him.

“Have you two had any serious disagreements?”

“Oh, no! We love each other too much to ever fight.”

“Fine. Go away and don’t come back till you’ve had a real fight,
and made up afterwards. If you can’t survive that, you shouldn’t
marry. If you can, then we’ll talk. You need to recognize that you
can love each other, but there are times you won’t necessarily
    like each other.”

He was a pretty smart guy. And yes, my wife and I have had some
doozies. I can be pretty stubborn. Well, we both can be. But we’ve
been working on it for nigh on 35 years now, so something’s working.

I have to agree, for the most part my wife and I don’t fight. Except
when she kicks in the micro-management bit when she corrects
every little thing that everyone does around the house. I get it,
she can’t do much these days, so she’s trying to get some kind
of control in her life. I’m not a cleaning person, I don’t go over-
board with how I do things like she did, so she starts in. My son
and I nick-named her “OMT” or one more thing, you get the idea.
I’ve got the bad habit of putting off things, I tire easily because of
my health etc… it’s not fair or right but if I start to stumble or
forget what I was doing, I have to rest. It’s not fair to everyone
else but I can’t help it. So yeah not perfect, but we’ve managed.

Smart man, that pastor. I know a real test to see if a couple’s
relationship is likely to be good for the long haul. ‘Paper a room.’
If a couple can wallpaper a room and still be together they’re
likely gonna last. Mine and I will have 51 years in August.
We’ve papered a couple of rooms.

I think Eitha’s face is a bit too human.
Shouldn’t she be more bunny, like the male?

Female rabbits, cats, and dogs tend to have shorter muzzles (not
all of course) It’s not true for all species, but mammals tend to
go that way, males are larger and stronger, females are smaller,
faster, and more vicious in defending the young.
With many, the male will try to kill the young to get to breed
with the mother sooner. That’s nature I guess…
Eat, sleep, crap and piss, and sex, in that order.

Few males will kill their own offspring but they’ll
often kill another’s in a bid to engender their own.

I’d argue with the point about the people that bought beach homes.
They can easily buy a new one at the new shore after the sea level
has risen. They could buy a new one every 5-10 years to keep
      having a beach home.

Except that according to some real climate experts it’s going to
start getting cold – damned cold – around 2030 and sea level is
gonna drop (cold water is more dense and takes up slightly less
volume) a good bit. The bad part is going to be the inevitable
crop failures. People starve to death with the weather as it is
now. Imagine the crop failures when we return to conditions more
the little ice age. We could be looking at billions starving. Of
course the fat cats like the ones in that cartoon won’t be among
        them. More’s the pity.

I seen that video, if I understood right, if you look at the
orbit deviation it’s like a clock, he showed we were at 1
o’clock, and 4-8 o’clock would be the worst, so we have
time to “adjust”. I think if the cool-down happens, It MIGHT
trigger an ice age, but the so-called hot house gases may
prevent it. Basically, we’ve been “throwing a log on the fire”.
The fatcats have been capitalizing on what people have
been seeing from the panic that weak science as caused,
like AL Gore’s “carbon points” for sale…
As far as sea-level dropping, that could be caused by increase
of snowfall in the north pole, and less melt-off in the “summer”.
That would reduce the flooding and extreme weather that’s
plagued us all over the world. The real concern is the amount
of plastics that are being dumped everywhere in the world, that
          doesn’t just go away!

Hot, cold, it doesn’t really matter, does it?
Because I agree with Bill on one point. Our food production
            will fail. Sooner or later.
The really sad part is how much we could do to prevent that,
how much we could do overall, but it won’t be done because
            saving lives is not profitable.

Yeah it’s “listen to me! I know what’s best” attitude.
It’s more like “Do as I say, not as I do”.
