Sorry, Rob, but I gotta disagree. I don’t have a 42″ monitor (limping along with a tiny 32″-er) but I did open the jpeg in a new window and zoom in 300% and it looks to me like Senna is standing such that the center of her torso is somewhat BEHIND Palas. Her torso is also twisted somewhat to her left. To me it looks like Senna’s arm is properly behind Palas. I also have to disagree with your comment yesterday regarding Yumi’s leg – specifically her shin. To me it looks like Yumi is standing suffciently behind the coffee fable that her right shin is NOT intersecting the table. The dark area to our left of the glasses is a reflection and of a color which would only be possible if shewere standing a bitbehind thetable. Otherwise the reflection would be white to match her socks. I have observed that the 3D rendering software has a tendency to compress distances front-to-back somewhat in a matter similar to what a high power telephoto lense, binoculars or rifle scope will do. i’m not saying the Catman doesn’t occasionally make a mistake – “Jamie” or “Casgoti” for instance – but he is almost always spot on in his 3D image composition. Even if he did cheat a tad when he hung the cruciform hospital modules under a Locust. There are frame members which would preclude that in the “real” world. I do not think you realize what an incredible visual artist our host is. And do not think I am merely being a fanboy here. I call him on things as well. But when it comes to anomalies in his visual lresentations I have learnex to give him the benefit of the doubt. P!us I understand the process of setting up a scene for rendering well enough to know what an exacting process it is and how careful Petercat is when he composes a scene. Sometimes I look at a scene in a panel he has composed and think “You’re a better man than I am, Gunga Din.”
Bill, thanks but… bottom of Palas’ left ribcage, four “squares” down in the sweater, there’s her fingertips (with claws) poking out.
Like a little Alien trying to escape!
I didn’t unbend her forearm when I positioned her upper arm.
Okay. I totally missed that. Still stand behind what I said about the Yumi pic.
BTW hoping to be able to do better textures. Bit the bullet and bought the latest rev of Photoshop elements. Was using the 2010 version – PSE 9. Current version is 2021 or equivalent to PSE 19.
While Miguel’s ballet outfit doesn’t really suit him, that color of pink actually does! I’m not much for pink myself, but on some guys, it actually works. (Black is my color. Let’s me blend with the shadows better…)
Surprisingly, the almost lime green uniform top on Tessa works pretty well with her emerald hair…
Someone’s channeling her inner “Ilsa, she-wolf of the Nazi Party”, isn’t she?
Pity she’s not woman enough to pull it off.
Kind of reminds me of that Connecticut State Trooper who claimed that he
“Can’t wait to kick your doors in” to confiscate guns.
Check your email. I sent you a present. More coming. I’m also going to ask you a couple of questions about Discovery’s bridge now that I’ve had a chance to analyze the model you sent me.
I may be a foreigner, and not really qualified to comment, but I much prefer the message of the currently serving soldier than the rabid ranting of the woman in the background of the early parts of the clip.
One is trying to incite civilian armed violence on the streets, whilst the other is explaining why her colleagues are limited by the rule of law, and civilian oversight, and pointing out that once that civilian oversight has declared Martial Law, those violent protesters will no longer be able to hide behind their status as Civilians and claim they are immune to the consequences of their own actions.
The mere fact that the rabid woman’s supporters have to carefully edit the parts of the soldier’s video they re-release to cherry-pick the one tiny part of her total message that can be construed badly shows me how desperate they are to incite the populace in general, and their supporters in particular.
I don’t really care whose side they are on – someone who is trying to incite civilian insurrection is almost certainly breaking some law, and needs to be shut down, firmly and publicly.
You are welcome to comment, John. Input from a foreign point of view can be valuable in helping us see things more clearly.
I agree with you that the mindset of the woman in the background is reprehensible, but she has no real power to do damage.
It was the expression and tone of the soldier’s response, seeming happy to kill her fellow citizens under color of authority,
however, that I find most disturbing.
Your opinion of the editing is valid, we are losing our ability to have faith in any authority, governmental, medical, media,
even some whom we might agree with, because too many attempt to sway the public, not to facts and truth, but to one
direction or another. We see this practiced most openly in our educational system.
Just present the facts, let us figure things out.
I apologize for getting political here. That crap belongs on my DA page.
I’m getting overwhelmed with the world’s negativity, going to limit my internet time.
No more politics here. Just cute cat(ian) pictures.
Breaths deeply…
It’s YOUR website… While there are those who may disagree with your opinions, (not me) you are still entitled to express whatever views you wish to on your website.
I, on the other hand, have a rather extreme view of how wars at the end of the Twentieth and the beginning of the Twenty-First Centuries, have been fought, and should be fought. Truth be told, were I in charge of our military, during the Iraq / Afghanistan “conflicts”, I likely would be up on war crime charges within a year, but by then, the WARs would have been over for six months.
Wars are supposed to be bloody, horrific and gruesome. We, in our attempts to gentrify war, minimizing collateral damage, self Flagilating when weapons cause casualties in addition to the targets, essentially becoming clean “hit men” for political agendas, whose sole purpose is to extract money from the tax payers.
War is NOT a GAME! It is enforcing civilized behavior on those who choose NOT to be civilized, by inflicting upon the enemy such horrific levels of destruction and death, that no sane person would pursue it. THIS is why the Nuclear Deterrents of the Cold War were never used, as the results, as demonstrated by Hiroshima and Nagasaki, were far too horrible to imagine on a large scale. The cold math of the loss of some 250,000 people in two cities, gone in seconds, far outweighed the loss that would have occurred with the invasion of Japan, conservatively estimated in the neighborhood of over 15,000,000, both Allied and Japanese casualties.
If you are fighting an enemy who has an Eleventh Century mindset, you DO NOT fight them with “limited warfare”, you hit them with an overwhelming amount of force. You do not hit them with precision guided munitions, you hit them with MOABs and FAE weapons. You hit their bases and encampments with Beehive rounds, Mine Clearing Explosive Charge rockets across their compounds. You OBLITERATE their leadership AND their troops at the same time. You hit them so hard that they never again even THINK of harming others… Our troops SHOULD project an air of Death and Annihilation, keeping the potential enemies hiding in the shadows, lest they bring attention to themselves.
Military SHOULD be focused upon their main purpose, the bringing of pain and destruction to those who would do us harm. Perhaps civilians SHOULD be unnerved in the presence of our warriors, because then, they would KNOW that our troops are not only able, but eager to intercept and destroy threats to our people.
Full time military should concentrate SOLELY on fighting wars. National Guards can concentrate on situations in the country that require augmenting defense within the country, as well as disaster relief, as needed. We need the politically incorrect, “unwoke,” trained Wolves to rend and tear at the enemy, not the neutered, ineffectual, yapping, “woke” Chihuahuas, yapping at the gates of our cities, against the barbarians, who laugh and sneer, at the ineffectual rat dogs that they famously kick aside.
We NEED those, “Sociopathic, Psycho Monsters” to defend us against the monsters, who would attack us wherever we are…
Sorry for the rant, but, well I AM a bit of a Heinlein fan…
I used to joke that my wife (redheaded and 4’7″ if she stood up straight) was like the best of wars: ruthless, vicious, brutal and short. And she was a better shot than I am. I loved her.
it’s been a year as of this coming Saturday, and a long withering illness before that. If you know anyone on hemodialysis, screw diabetes, they can control that. Learn the symptoms of calciphylaxis and watch for them.
i lost mine in 2006.. after two years of cancer treatments.. so yes i know the “long withering illness.” .. 🙁
so,, i silently stand (kneel) with you.. and offer a prayer this Saturday.!
Charles Smith – As a member of the George S. Patton school of warfare, I can but say. AMEN. FYI, our enemies respect nothing, even themselves. Given the teachings from their book, only actions which you have described will even get their attention. Since they have been told by their god that they are the only ones authorized to live upon the Earth – It behooves us interdict most emphatically.
Jochi – I am so sorry. The pain and helplessness you both must have endured.
May she rest in peace and may you be comforted that she not only is out of harm’s way, but when you see her again, your joy will have no bounds.
As an RN, I have helped many patients with their AV shunts, et al, but never seen this calciphylaxis . . . reckon I am grateful, as I am saddened for you.
doh,,, panel 6 , Senna has her paw through Palas…
Against that sweater Argyll pattern, it’s almost impossible to see.
What do you do? Examine under a scanning electron microscope?
maybe.. 🙂 , 42 inch monitor with 500% zoom..
Sorry, Rob, but I gotta disagree. What’s the big deal? We’ve seen Kitty Pride, Vision, and various Flashes do that lots of times. It’s harmless.
🙂 lol
ahh,, the M1 Garand. 🙂
I thought I recognized that rifle. My dad’s favorite for years.

I’m surprised Ronnie’s Justice required no visible injuries. Must have a hell of a rep.

I’ve watched the original video, it’s not quite as bad as seen
at the link, but it’s still very Nazi-bad.
I may be wrong (frequently am) but somehow I don’t think most of us have anything to fear from rainbow warriors like her.
