Yes, she does. I’m sure it lines up with the last thoughtful silence I pointed out, but I’m not sure how. My best guess is that she is weighing her hopes for her son’s happiness against the pain of having him in a foreign clime on the other side of a wormhole. (We still don’t know how far it is away in flat space or time, and it doesn’t matter much really. The wormholes are the only practical means of transportation and communication.)
On the other hand, it might be interesting if the wormholes connect different points in time as well as space; it might matter significantly if there were a closed loop of wormholes one could travel around. I hope that pure speculation does not spoil something in our future stories.
I also agree. I blew off steam elsewhere. I’d rather keep this a friendly, comfortable place in the Internet where I share many thoughts with the others, and can mostly respect the thoughts I don’t perfectly agree with.
I will say that I will not challenge 2021 saying it can’t be worse than 2020. I did that last year and look what it got us.
