I agree, Gary. Looks like one knothead is gonna object. I’m hoping the Capt tells him to save it for later and get the troops off to one side I would have had them line up on the side TOWARDS where the aircraft are hovering just to make it less likely for those surrendering to be caught by “friendly fire”.
FYI, fellow readers, the small, 3-barreled gatlings on those ships areessentially .50 cal. The big, 6-barreled gatlings are 20mm – i.e. essentially the same gun that A10 jocks use to turn tanks into oddly shaped colanders. I would have expected the smaller guns to be 7.62X51 like the famous M134. A 7.62X51 round is bad enough. The civilian version (.308 Wincchester) will easily put a 400lb buck on his ass. A .50 cal is in a whole ‘nother league. My son (who unloaded the 1st ship for “Desert Shield/Storm”) once laughingly told me that a .50 cal will do nasty things to a camel. Hate to see what multiple flocks of those things would do to infantry. Brrrrr.
last page in discussion sed all this,, but .50 cal are GAU-19a/b ,, an the ” 25mm ” GAU-12b Blazer (modified Equalizer),, not the M61 Vulcan 20mm..
also for refresh,, damage was also discussed way back when,, when cannibals attacked the legion camp (TGW-328)
Could be an interesting class….?
One sergeant looks ready to object… not a good idea!
