P8….the trap is about to be sprung.
But in which direction?
On Svetlana?
Or on Mr Embassy employee (assuming he’s even in the room?)
(considering that there are guards, I’m assuming the Mr
Embassy employee is SOMEWHAT aware of what’s really
going on)
I don’t think those are necessarily embassy guards,
but if they are, having Commander Villines there
means she may be about to arrest him.
And as the chief law enforcement officer in the empire,
they ultimately would answer to her.
– surprised – i’m thinking,
high profile case with alot that can go wrong,
she was asked to ‘look into it’…
or, with her background, made it personal,.
Sharon is a skilled investigator, and since the Russians
don’t know the Cat’s as well as we do, they would
question the validity of any clues their senses would
pick up. Sharon would notice clues as to the truth
of what both the aid and Svetlana might say. This
could be a simple justice story or a love story in short
order! It would explain why he was able to “escape”
and placed where he is now, someone listened his side
and this meeting is to prove/disprove it.
Terysa-as-Teresa said “The accusation of drugs and rape are true.
There is more than enough evidence for a conviction.”
This implies both a drug test and a rape kit, with a DNA match.
Unless she wanted to take the drugs,
and THAT would be hard to prove, he’s guilty.
P4…..Teresa really does have a problem.
Suggestion……Miral stands with Ahmya,
declaring (to the effect) that mistakes have
been made, apologies proferred and accepted.
Miral will now carry Ahmya’s sword, BUT,
will also spend time with and beside Ahmya,
so thateach will learn about the other’s
culture; the hows and the whys.
(especially have Ahmya teach Miral how to
use the “too long axe”)
“There are none so blind as those who
refuse to see”.
Another way would be for them to stage a sparring match
with Ahmya and convincingly let her win. Miral isn’t trained
for even a practice sword so it is very possible. There’s a
limit to what speed and/or strength can compensate for.
In the Xanth series by Piers Anthony,
there is a quote about a Catastrophe in a
cave which turns out to be a plaque with
the back half of a cat stuck into it.
OH boy, that is bad, they were very big on keeping the stance
of being the stronger family. What little I know tells me that
this could have tipped the balance and triggered a civil war,
perhaps if Miral and a few other’s were to help proving them
wrong? Like the sparring match or fight in an actual battle. It’s
clear that Ahmya didn’t think that far ahead when she was
spouting off to the other girls…
I wonder… If this guy doesn’t jump up and greet her, asking
if she’s ok and such. It’s just as likely someone else spiked
her drink and the aid ran them off and stayed with her until
he could get her out of the bar/lounge and took her home
to sleep it off. Date-r*pe drugs are cruel way to get laid, in
some cases the victims are over-dosed and don’t survive.
Anyway they mess up the short-term memory and that is
why they are so popular. The only witness only saw her after
the guy called a cab. The rest could just be a huge misunderstanding.
“Rape”, some filters do, some don’t.
Sexual assault can mean many things,
from an grope to rape, the word rape
makes it a solid confirmation of what
was done. Also rape isn’t a true sexual
act, it’s an act of forced dominance.
Guys that do it get off on that alone not
just the sex. Men are raped too, just
few want to admit to it.
It took me a minute. I kept identifying “The Imperial Model” with the
Japanese Empire, not the Wolf Empire. I guess Nepal’s ‘expansion’
through Bangladesh is a pre-Imperial model. I assume some part of
the Japanese Imperial Family survived The Fall and is still held in
reverence, but capitalists have taken the place of shogun. Not far off
from what Japan is now as I understand it.
Since this JUST happened, the Shimizu family can’t have lost face
YET, other than stories about the incident that precipitated it. Jochi
has to be fretting over what he predicts WILL happen. There is still
time to head it off, if the story doesn’t leave this room. That will be
tricky. Not everyone here is part of the Empress’s party.
I can’t believe it took me so long to see what everyone was fretting
over about continuity. Gopi shouldn’t be here. But she hasn’t spoken.
This has my apologist tendencies stretched, but maybe she isn’t —
this is a coincidental look-alike that will be remarked on later? (My
next-best idea involves time travel, and that’s a can of worms.)
I’m sure that’s it, if she was to appear without the family sword,
rumors would spread and the more aggressive would leap on
the chance to call her out on it. A simple replica would quell some,
but those in power would notice the difference. As one of the
“warrior maidens” of the clan (I don’t know the term) she would be
expected to be part of her father’s guard. I’m sure in matters of
state she would be expected to wear the sword in a ceremonial
fashion.
Thanks, I’m sure I could have researched myself on it all.
But after I was forced to quit… I didn’t take it well.
Then I got married and just focused on my own history 😛
But an apologist attempts to make it make sense anyway. Fandom is
full of them, both comics and sci-fi movies. In the middle ages they
did the same thing with scripture, trying to reconcile the contradictions.
Honestly, the simplest solution is to say Miral’s combat schenes were
mis-depicted and she was actually using a different long knife. Closer
to truth as well, but less fun.
I could have swore she said she needed to stop
by the truck to get her katana… In all these years
this is only the second time PC mixed up his continuity.
I think we can all agree he was due for it and not
worry about it 🙂 😛 No one’s perfect and that’s better
than even Dr. Who and Star Trek. I challenge anyone
to find a long-running franchise that can claim that,
some break continuity just for the sake of a plot line!
Agreed. There’s always things for fans to have fun trying
to make fit. Even with just one author. I won’t even try to
attack something like the Wold-Newton Family universe(s).
I would love to see TGW as a live series.
At least we know it wouldn’t be smothered in SJW-DIE nonsense.
Although I still think Forrest Whittaker should have a role.
I really wouldn’t mind having him cast as Mr. Walker.
But that’s the only change I’d accept.
While I agree with that idea, a CGI series would have the same
characters and lore without worrying about actors “aging out”
as much as many older series have. Take Teresa, she was a
older child at the beginning, but in real-world time frame she’d
be early-mid 30’s by now. Johnathan himself will look 50 for
decades himself since he’s bonded, but the actor would age
normally. I’m willing to bet any actor hating the “woke”
crowd would love to be on your show 😀
A minor detail, pic 5 – as I see it the wireless(?) keyboard has the space bar pointing away from Taritha (= turned 180 degrees).
As stated before – pobody is nerfect 😉 but PC’s record is way better than … (none mentioned, none forgotten 😉 )
Breaking the lore is a sin while misplaced items or
someone’s feet phasing into the floor or an elbow
in a shelf or wall is minor since PC is doing this alone.
Breaking continuity is something completely different
and PC very, very rarely does that.
An example of what I’m talking about was grrlpower,
the comic started with Sydney (the MC) playing a
DnD game with some people, then having to leave
for her “other job”, only to meet up with a golden
blue haired goddess in military garb and fist-bumping
a 7 ft tall chocolate goddess, and that event has
NEVER happened in the rest of the comic. and it’s
older than TGW by a few years.
Yeah, the reversed keyboard was unintentional.
But would you believe that’s how I actually type?
I learned to read upside down, so it’s easier for me.
Writing would be easier if I were a southpaw, though.

Yes, Sharon is a skilled investigator, but this isn’t Sharon.
This is Dame Leonor Villines, chief law enforcement officer
of the empire.
Ah yes, you’re right. Same thing though,
she was the police chief before the fall,
so she has to be at least as good as Sharon.
No peep holes in the doors either.
He has to open the door to see who is there.
P4…..Teresa really does have a problem.

I’m probably just being dense as usual but why do you guys
use “r*pe” to refer to a sexual assault. Is it something in the
spam filter?
Not that I know of, I have no objection.
Please try spelling it out, the site will
accept anything that Rob or I type.

Jochi –
I asked about Gopi being there in the discussion of episode 1333.
PC said, and I quote: “Well, fuck. I screwed up, didn’t I?”
I believe in brevity and honesty.
But an apologist attempts to make it make sense anyway. Fandom is

Well, damn. Elon Musk himself liked one of my posts on X:
https://x.com/GentleWolfX/status/1869654560396214589
Now if he’d just leave a comment here on TGW. I wouldn’t use his email, I promise.
He’s certainly too busy to read through 1300+ pages of a webcomic.
I don’t know, he is a speed-reader…
Might even start X Productions…
😛 😉

I just now went to TWC and Arron was the non-member test!
“Meet Aaron from The Gentle Wolf
Young people rebuilding civilization on multiple planets.
Fun vote incentives updated often.
Find out more!
Visit my comic!”
Yeah, I’ve seen Aaron once this month and Leonor twice.
TWC is getting weird.
