This has actually been bothering me since episode 1290. Teresa passing
the video feed to the news station. We’re talking a live feed of a knife fight
to the death. Seems a bit barbaric, like the Romans and their gladiators.
Also, if the dude gets lucky, Teresa isn’t going to be able to save Mala’s life
again, not with the fight on live TV.
It’s no different from the Hunt, even Janice was in on that.
After the fall the world became a rough place, not one for
the faint of heart. Teresa could do any repairs without making
it noticeable, unlike what she did for Flea. “Mala, you are very
lucky, that knife wound missed every single major artery!”
when in fact Teresa closed them up.
Ah, I’d forgotten about The Hunt.
Everyone knew The Hunt was about seeking justice
for the rape and attempted murder of Felah.
Is Howard going to provide background about Mala and Aziz?
That he’s the last one alive of a group that tried to
kidnap the Empress?
Oh, I’m sure, but it shouldn’t be too hard for anyone to understand
it after the bomb attacks in Jerico, I’d want to them sliced and diced
too! Plus it proves that the Imp-marines are NOT to be messed
with, even the trainees! And it has the added effect of helping the
survivors of the attacks to see that those responsible are brutally
killed for it. I still think the marines need the “Aliens” version
of a flame thrower…
I have no idea. I swear I thought she was wearing her engagement ring.
Ah, well, I’ve got so many pages created that I’m not going through all
of the images to re-do them.
They aren’t married yet, Cheryl gets to go first.
I had a hunch that was the case, Cissy did finish her training before the fall,
so I’m quite sure she’s going to let this fool know the score. Now I know why
that blonde gave her the stink-eye, she flagged Cissy as competition. I can’t
help but wonder if that fact about being over-muscled was a factor of my
being refused.
Ah she got 2 hits on his chest! I didn’t see that before. Minor blood-loss,
not a big deal but his arm is going to be weakened and slow because of
the number of injuries. Mala might let him surrender, but not before he’s
begging for death. “Death of a thousand cuts” comes to mind.

Oh, now Mala is just rubbing “salt” in the
open wound, taking a drink in front of the
condemned man. Gotta admire her “moxie”,
her “chuztspa” (sp?), her panache. Cool as
the proverbial cucumber. LOVE IT!
I half expect Mala to toss him the bottle. Not sure whether
he would catch it or bat it away. Not sure if she’d use the
distraction to get another cut in. Not sure she really drank
from it or that it contains plain water. Too many guesses
for what PC has planned.
She’s pointing out they have water, so I’m sure she would toss it
if he asked, but he’s clearly too proud to show weakness. Which
will be his downfall, that’s how you get organ failure! Dehydration
is no joke. I spent most of the day some years back in the tower
at the factory, average temp was in the 110f range so I sweated
out most of my liquids. As a result, my kidneys shut down! I did
not know, that’s what I got for being the “tough guy”.
I was sick for a week.

I knew that guy was too muscle bound. That and the title panel.
Looking forward to Cissy educating him.
Re Sam’s question: I figure Howard did that off (our) screen
during P6 and onward. No need for us to see that. We already
know what’s going on. I figure it’s like when we watched the
original Shogun series. They edited out when the priest was
translating for Blackthorn because the Japanese watching
had already gotten what Blackthorn said from the kanji
subtitles.
Thank you. Yeah, that made a bit of difference. I remember the
original airing back in 1981/82ish. It ran for five nights (I think),
two hours per. The first miniseries on primetime network TV.
At least in my memory, anyway. Many years later I saw a VCR
tape for sale in a store for Shogun. A single tape! Even if
it was a double length tape, that means they edited out 60%.
I saw this funny story on Quora and had to share:
An elderly man rear-ended a guy driving an expensive European
sports car. Enraged, the guy hops out and confronts the old man.
He yells, “Look what you did to my car! You’re going to give me
$10,000 right now or I’m going to beat you to a pulp!”
“Oh my…” the old man said nervously. “I don’t have that kind of
money. Let me call my son.” he said with hope.
“He trains dolphins and he will know what to do.”
“Dolphins!” the other driver huffed, while rolling his eyes.
The old man pulled out his phone, dialed his son, and just as his
son answered, the irate man snatched the phone away from the
old man.
“So, YOU’RE a dolphin trainer, huh?” The irate man yelled, “Well,
your old man here just rear-ended my car and I need TEN GRAND
right now, or I’m going to beat you AND your old man to a pulp!”
“I’ll be there in 10 minutes.” says the voice calmly on the other end.
Exactly 10 minutes later, a Jeep pulls up and a guy hops out and
proceeds to pulverize the bully, leaving him in a heap on the
side of the road. When he finished, he walked over to his father
and said, “For the last time dad, I train Seals… Navy Seals.
NOT dolphins!”
More like soccer with medicine balls and no rules.
They tried once with mixed teams, Cat and Terran…
Once was enough.
Now they have a Terran league and a Cat league.
The Terrans have… Drum roll, please…
Smaller balls.
Sigh… Ok, the medication I take for my diabetes has a side-effect.
It can cause pancreatitis if my cholesterol gets too high, which it
did. So I’m seeing another doc tomorrow. I may have to have another
hospital stay. I wondered why my sugar kept spiking for no reason.
That’s why there is follow up testing and appointments.
However, there is no real substitute for patient self awareness
and reporting. Hope they quickly get things under control.
Just for grins and giggles, Scars, what diabetes medication are
you on?. I’m on metformin and Jardiance. I’m also in a research
study about something called orforglipron. That stuff makes me
about half nauseous. It is also making me lose weight. I weigh
about the same as I did in High School now. It’s hard to find
stuff I can stand to eat sometimes.
It’s a new one called Xultophy, the side effect is if my triglycerides
are high, it can cause pancreatitis, I was on Trulicity, WAY too costly.
Most sudden illness is caused by side-effects. My father was on death’s
door about 20-odd years ago, then we found him better doctors and
they restarted him on new meds and he’s still going strong. I’m also on
metformin and Glipizide. I joke that if we combined all mine, my wife’s,
and my father’s meds we could open a pharmacy! I’m a stew-pot of
multiple common health issues, my father’s side, heart attack, stroke,
and other cardio issues. On my mother’s side, it’s cancer, dementia,
and a spattering of other mental issues. Mostly “assholl-itis” heh…
ERGH! doctors…
Now they can’t decide if it’s my cancer, liver, or pancreas!
Getting a CT Monday, I hope it clears things up. I haven’t
slept much in weeks.
I think what would be funny if Mala knocked him out,
they keep him that way until he’s healed up and then
let him wake up to that wonderful lady inserting the
ground wire while holding the “light socket”…
I am really enjoying the comments on these two stories.
Thanks, all. Keep it up!
Other than that, the Cat sayeth nothing.
Okay………..Meow.

Panel 3 – Where are Cissy’s rings?
I have no idea. I swear I thought she was wearing her engagement ring.
Ah, well, I’ve got so many pages created that I’m not going through all
of the images to re-do them.
They aren’t married yet, Cheryl gets to go first.
Sorry, PC. Sometimes I catch stuff like that,
and other times (like last episode),
I’m as dense a a brick of lead.
I had a hunch that was the case, Cissy did finish her training before the fall,

Have to now wonder what Cissy has
up her proverbial sleeve.
Yeah, yeah, the cat sayth nothing. Pfffffttt.
I knew that guy was too muscle bound. That and the title panel.
Looking forward to Cissy educating him.

Not the first time I’ve seen it and
I’m STILL giggling far too loudly.
HA! I’ve seen it too, but it always gives me a laugh.
I watched 2 of them practice knife fighting with each
other, I do NOT want to try that!
I expected him to be a trainer for the Miami Dolphins…
FourBall the golf variant (which I just learned existed)?
I expected something crazier,
like team play racquetball with four balls in play.
More like soccer with medicine balls and no rules.
They tried once with mixed teams, Cat and Terran…
Once was enough.
Now they have a Terran league and a Cat league.
The Terrans have… Drum roll, please…

FourBalls! For the athlete that twice as cocky!
HA! And EEWWWW… 😛
Agreed. Eewwww…

The doctors must love to see you come in.
“Oh, boy! Now I can buy that Lambergini…
Lemborjeanni… Bently.”
I know, right?
That’s why there is follow up testing and appointments.
However, there is no real substitute for patient self awareness
and reporting. Hope they quickly get things under control.
If it is pancreatitis, they’ll just put back on insulin and treat it.
I can’t be sick, my wife and father can’t drive or cook. Not to
mention 8 cows…

Not really, it’s one of my symptoms. I am worried,
just not that worried.
Ah, that vote incentive a while back…
