What bothers me is that he could GENUINELY intend what he did
as a gift, with no further intention to profit from it. In short, trying
to give to the Empire what he can, in his own way. In other words,
He may have taken it upon himself to build Teresa the equivalent
of “Marine One” so she has a dedicated transport as needed.
In short, it could be he’s doing it as his “patriotic duty”. If he
DOESN’T ask for her permission to advertise what he did for her,
Then she should accept it with grace, and say nothing more of it.
yeah, a bit too shiny for work in a combat zone.
But the scheme is not really flamboyant,
only two colors (green and gold).
If going to be a mobile aid station for public
appearances by the Empress, should be ok :}
I think this guy is trying to get Teresa to let him “pimp out”
ALL the craft she has in the military. Having a single unit
for “show and tell” would be fine, but there’s no reasonable
excuse to do that to all the Locust and Firefly’s. Maybe he
thought she’d love it and hire him for the entire fleet…
I know, I just think this guy is up to something, and
Teresa is going to “school” him on it. Maybe make it
into a de-commissioned display on the Navy’s
grounds or some such. Maybe as a decoy for times
she goes on trips, it’s just too eye-catching.
I hope I’m right, because, sometimes, people do unexpected things,
not because they have to, nor that they will profit from them, but
simply because they can, and they hope the people who receive the
gift would simply appreciate the gesture.
I think it would be a welcome surprise for the new Empress…
Not surprising Gopi has a few Dragonfly friends, they seem to
go to those good people that are in a need. My wife and I had
a “California King” sized bed for a while, damn thing was 6
inches wider than a standard. I think that bed is even larger…
A MASH locus with polished paint and gold trim… Naa, no way
would that be easier to spot in a combat situation. Just because
you see in detail of what is 50ft behind you when looking at the
hull, that wouldn’t attract attention at all during a rescue op…
It turns out I sort of know the general idea of
where this segment is going. PC kind of wanted
me to whip up a special model for this story.
Nothing came of it. I’ll not say what I think
is coming. No spoilers from this old man.

I just know it was hell finding sheets to fit the damn thing.
Much less a box spring or the frame. I had to order the box
but the frame only took about 7 calls and a 80 mile trip. We
got by until the box came in my placing 1 X 6 on the frame.
Wanna guess were the box spring was shipped from?
I sleep on a Twin XL hospital bed.
It’s impossible to find anything to fit.
You can’t even find a mattress that’s
thin enough to flex without going to a
specialty store and paying out the ass.
That does look comfortable, but I’d need help to get up, or at
least a good grip-point in reach. My legs aren’t co-operating.
We have a standard queen these days, our current bedroom
couldn’t hold anything larger.
“Standard Bed”. largest is California King.
the 5 bigger are ‘oversized’.
Alaska King = 108″ X 108″ , 11,664″
Family XL = 84″ X 144″ , 12,122″
so 9 foot square VS 12 foot…
also:
California King = 84″ X 72″
so the XL is 2 kings…
Yeah, we had one for a while, until my German Shepard
got a case of the “zoomies” and took a bath…
We talked about getting another and keeping the bedroom
door shut but then my wife got pregnant and that was
forgotten. Baby gear cost more than a water bed…
If he hadn’t tore up the liner at the same time it wouldn’t
have been as bad, took us a week to dry out the carpet.
I had never seen that dog so wound up before, but we
were gone for a couple of days and he got excited I
guess. That’s why I got the C king, but the water
wrecked the WB frame. damn cheap wafer board crap…
My wife didn’t like the waterbed much anyway, I had
gotten up in the middle of the night for the bathroom,
came back in and sat down a bit too hard, CATAPULTED
my poor wife into the wall at 2am…
Talk about a rude awakening!
Having had a waterbed, with cat resistant coverage, I can honestly
say, I know what you mean. However; I did say that the covering
was “Cat Resistant”, and as I later learned, this does NOT mean cat
proof! After having launched my cat, quite accidentally, halfway to
the ceiling, She, in her feline wisdom, decided to get her revenge,
not on me, but upon the offending bed. Little pin pricks in the bed
itself, with a leakage that was so slight, I didn’t notice it for
months, until I felt, that for some reason, the bed must have been
suffering from some evaporation through the plastic, as I didn’t
feel and water soaking through the mattress cover. However; when
I added the water, I found a number of small beads of water
forming on the plastic, which I wiped off, thinking I’d spilled
water on the bed. Nope! They started forming again,
and I needed to patch them.
Still had a slow leak, which I never found until I moved to Oklahoma.
Got rid of the bed, as replacement of the bed bladder would have
cost more than a normal bed. The Cat in question seemed quite
satisfied in her victory over the offending bed.
Thus that necessary field mod for cats. Every cat we have
ever had was declawed and spayed/neutered. I do not
think most cats are naturally destructive but they do have
instincts. But they do keep their back claws. Startle one
while it’s in your lap and see if it doesn’t carve chunks
out of your legs!
Gopi looks a lot larger and older than I thought when
she first was playing with Miral’s tail. I figured her
to be perhaps 9 or 10. From this segment I’d put her
in her teens. I still think she may be operating on an
intellectual level more similar to a small child.
Extreme trauma can make a person withdraw to an
earlier stage of development.
I expect she’s locked in the moment of shock, so she’s
never aged mentally. I know when my GF was killed I
was in shock and shut down mentally, so it makes perfect
sense that a child that young to stay that way for years.
Since I was older it only took a few weeks to have some
normalcy to return, but she was far younger.
Human or anthropomorphic animals,
in the present or in the future,
they all seem to have the same issue:
refusing to face their problems.
Miral is the only one who seems to
have a lick of sense sometimes!
Howdy! We love it when people join in, Petercat tells great
stories here. We all pitch in and make suggestions too, a
new voice would be welcomed. Miral has learned well about
life, you should read from the start, she was a wild-eye
wildcat at first 🙂
Hello!
One thing I should point out is that I want criticism.
It’s how I improve.
So if there’s anything about the comic that you
don’t like or disagree with,
let me know. I’ve had entire story lines change
because of a reader’s suggestion.
Of course, I might not change anything…
Just be… not necessarily “nice”
(That would be expecting too much from this crowd)
but respectful.
As an English and French major,

There is just something WRONG about a
Locust as pimped up as that one has been.
Locusts are work horses, not show horses.
He’s French.
‘Nuff said.
It looks…..steampunk.

so, there’s that…

You could give that writer a plug here, y’know.
Hello and like everyone else said, “Welcome.”
Hi there!
