what would ‘you’ rather have.? complete and udder ‘Clueless-ness”.
or,, one actually gets a clue.
when i was ‘target dummy’ (paintball, terrorist vs Seals.) and they
(Seals) knew what we had an how many of us.. they cleaned house.
but when they didn’t,. we had a really good chance of a win. oh,
this was the late 80’s in to the 90’s,. before paintball was a thing
Too dangerous.
Remember they are outnumbered two to one and outmassed four
to one.
Also, the fleets in this universe are not that big, so losing a heavy
and three light cruisers will hurt them in the long run.
Additionally, if no one returns the Batshits will think that they lost
those ships to a single Pteran light cruiser. That alone will make
the Batshits engaging the Pterans extremely cautious in the future.
@Rob and @Dreamfox, I wasn’t suggesting our guys go easy on the Shitbats. I was just
thinking that it might not be an absolute imperative that no Shitbats escape if destroying
the last enemy vessel presents too great a risk. (And, yeah, I know PC has already written
the rest of the story. I’m just thinking aloud.)
I didn’t think you were suggesting to go easy on the Batshits.
Under the right circumstances I can see the advantage of
letting some enemies escape. I just wanted to convey that
I thought that they didn’t apply in this situation for several
reasons.
🙂
Too soon for the Core to figure it out just yet, although survivors could give
intel the Imperial fleets sorely need! The less the Core knows, the better.
Okay, I may be being nitpicky, but I was taught that the proper way to
hand one of those swords to another person was hilt up, and you don’t
actually let go till they give it a little shake to let you know they have
control of it.
Still, that’s what I was taught. Don’t know if it was right or wrong, and
I shouldn’t assume either Alex or Tracy should or would know, so I’ll just
be quiet again and enjoy the show.
It depends on which culture and time period, Medieval times you held it
with the hilt going to the left and flat across the palms, Asian culture it
depends on the status or position of the presenter, equals would hand it
like Alex did, lower folk would lay it on the floor and bow touching their
foreheads on the floor. Gads, it goes on and on, sword culture is weird in
any setting or time frame. Check wiki or library of congress, I had forgotten.
True he is holding it upside down, he’s not a trained user of one.
The sheath does lock onto the hilt, but it’s not worth the risk.
Usually you wear them for cross-draw, holding the sheath just
below the hilt, so you can pop the sword loose with your thumb
without letting your enemy know it’s ready to pull.
Heh, no worse than the statues I did in high school using clay.
I always got the same from the teacher, “Interesting, but…”
I was 16, she was in her mid-20s and niiiice 😉 No, not in the
creepy way! LOL
Cissy looks very cute focusing on those rings, I was afraid this would come up.
She really had her heart set on those rings too. Karma, give these kids a break!
The Pride took out a battleship and 2 frigates alone (with their Toby’s of course),
I’m sure a light cruiser could do no less. Those crews, if any survive, will never
forget the might of both the P’tero and Imperial fleets!
ok,, this is for PC.. because of the convention, i’ll out from the 1st to the 5th.
so, wont be able to update the 2nd an 5th.. well maybe the 5th, but lets say
no just to be sure…
Question for everyone. I’m going to get one of those multi-tools
to keep in the car’s glove box for a just-in-case thing. I’d like
suggestions for make/model from you folks. Can do?
President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal B Woodman Domestic Violent Extremist SuperStraight
I’m partial to, and have two of the older Gerber multi-tools. The
blades etc are on the inside of the handle, and don’t dig into your
hands when you grip.
The pliers slide up and lock in place. I have one with a blunt nose
pliers, and the other with a (relatively) “needle” nose pliers.
All the other multi-tools of that time had the blades etc facing on
the outside of the handle, very uncomfortable to grip.
But that was decades ago. Who knows what’s out there now,
and how they operate?
as a “mechanic / mr. fix-it” going on 60 years.! i have multiple
styles of the 3 main types of multi-tools (knives, folding pliers,
and fixed head multi-pliers).. since the ones (3) i carry, are a
personal preference. i’m going to suggest you look at the ‘3 types’
an accessories,. an what you want it to do. .. once you find the
one you want an get it, THEN find the cheap knockoff of it an buy
it too.! (cuz you are NOT going to pound on your $50+ tool with
a rock.!!)
that said..
i prefur pliers over knives for working (tho i carry 3 or 4 knives
at any given time..),, and personally prefer “Gerber” over
“Leatherman” (handle ergonomics). and then, my knockoff tool is
completely different, i have a no name vicegrip muti-tool.. (and
cuz of some of the “oddball” road side fixes,, the company i
worked for, now have em in all the service trucks.!)
I was a professional mechanic for years, I never used one of them!
Well not at work anyway I did own one when they first came out,
broke it a week later. I’m sure they are much better now (cough).
Riley hasn’t actually quoted a price yet. Maybe they have price tags. He would have
to be amazingly fond of Alex to offer them gratis, or still be sufficiently angry at the
granddaughter to see an opportunity for angering her more by GIVING them to, not
just a warrior, but another Marine.
Actually, Captain, YOU’RE on THEIR side, and are being targeted preemptively. Still
a gross violation by the Shitbats opening hostilities against another Core species,
or any species that is signatory to the Treaty. And since the Ptera have no idea why
this is happening, I assume it was an ambush or a sucker punch.
True, but my son spent $250 on a replica of a Katana, it was pretty authentic.
I’m sure the real thing would be worth way more. I’m sure the rings aren’t
cheap either, the set I bought my wife and I (which in her case they were basic)
weren’t cheap, all three were over $500! The engagement ring was 2/3 of the
cost and it was a cluster of fragments. (at the time I was barely making $250
a week and rent alone was $300).
SO very true, but they don’t know it yet. This and other attacks should documented
until the day comes when the Empire and their members take the core corporations
to court over their transgressions. Ever since the Pride went to Xanadu this has been
going on, and that is just what we know of. Add in the videos, the records, AND the
prisoners, The Counsel will have no choice but rule in the Empire’s favor.
a real katana starts at $10k (called a Nihonto) an actual
“Samurai katana” (proven) starts around $30k.
most of mine are Chinese knockoffs, which the cheapest
(real) one was $800,. but average about $1,200
Maybe they ought to let one badguy escape after all. I doubt
Shitbat headquarters would believe their report anyway.

PC, what is the story behind the current vote reward? It’s an interesting image
but I have absolutely no idea what it means.

Yeah the one I had was like that too, hated it.
They weren’t made for someone to use often
I guess.
