A chastity belt maybe?
Sun go nova! That’s is not a weapon to
mess with. Which race used the Planet Killer
earlier in the story? Oops I think it was a
story I read elsewhere.
No, I think it’s what I got my wife after the neighbor’s 17 y/o
boy was caught (by me) drooling over her sunbathing: a stun
gun. I made sure he seen her try it on grass, he ducked back
inside when the grass started to smoke heh. Then I said loud
enough for him to hear, “if that don’t work, his b-day is coming
up, and I haven’t had a decent workout in weeks” 😉 His mom
showed up at our door days later claiming I threatened her
baby, I just flatly told her that I caught him red handed, so
either keep him away from my wife, or visit him in the ICU.
That worked.
AH! Yes, that would do it, although I cringe at the loss of resources.
Shades of SG-1, but yes a brutal weapon for brutal “people”.
I had wondered what they could have come up with that scared
the GC so bad they stopped weapons research. Better comparison
is the Andromeda series, they had “Nova bombs” that could be carried
by a single-man fighter that would trigger a supernova. But, like
the Empire, it was the tops guns to ok it’s use, and even then it was
debated. Let’s face it, using that option is like beating the crap out of
someone or pulling the .44 mag and shooting someone in the head.
With hollow points no less. “He’s missing a head? What head? I didn’t
see him with one” (whistles off key) heh.
The Empire has already found the specs for and is reproducing the
weapon the GC was so scared of it put it under the tightest wraps
possible and outlawed weapons research altogether?? Well, except
the Disruptors ignored the rest of the Council and basically dared
them to do something about it. Maybe the Empire got it from them.
I’ve wondered if the Empire’s gravity projector could be used to
create a nova bomb. Mounted on a ship or even a planet, since
Newton’s Third still applies, the projector would get jerked into
the star before a significant disturbance of the fusion reactor in
the core occurred, BUT a very powerful projector, set to radiate
in all directions, on a drone protected by the strongest shields
available, simply dropped into the star MIGHT add enough extra
compression of the inner core before the heat and radiation
overwhelmed the shields, the projector died, and the compressed
fuel was released…
Suddenly reducing the mass of a sun would cause it to explode,
from what I’ve read, they are a delicate balance, and if that
balance changes… boom. So a grav bomb or a large, focused
beam weapon might do it, if it can be protected long enough
from the ejecta. Maybe a spiral around the sun to keep it out
of the spray?

Wait, wait, wait, is she blushing in p4?
Julian, you old dog you!
If you’re wondering, it wasn’t him staring, it’s
where his hand was when I looked up at him.
I almost called the cops.
This had to be a collage stunt:

I would have loved to been able to play this for my
wife, although it might have triggered a crisis heh.
