Rob said it best in “Tags” above. (I wish I’d thought of it…)
She’s not offering them a carrot, she’s offering them a share
of the garden so they can grow their OWN carrots.
So the Bunnies are taking a page from the Saudis. Let the foreign
“infidels” do the hard, dangerous, dirty work while SA reaps most
of the benefit. They keep the foreign workers in ghettos (excuse
me, “enclaves”) with somewhat relaxed sharia law and ultimately
everyone profits. Doubtless there will be incentives to do the
work in as environmentally neutral a way as possible. It’s a win-
win situation.
They get the choice between sitting around doing nothing until they
can return home or earning more money than they would have
before for the same job.
In this case they brought their own ‘enclaves’ with them, with the
difference that by working with the bunnies they might be able to
move around outside their enclaves.
Overall I’d say they are getting a good offer.
And depending how things go with the big picture, they might
want to stay within the Empire later.
They’ve opened the door to them, they still have to walk through.
The downside of making “friends” like this is they are “fair weather
friends” they won’t hesitate to cry wolf if it suits them. But once
they get that the Empire is the real-deal, that will change.
Knowing Johnathan, the phrase “Oh, this is gonna be GOOOOD!” runs
through my mind 😉 I’ve never read “The Art of War” but my Sensei
was fond of quoting chinese generals, so I could imagine.
I like Eitha, she reminds me quite a bit of Teresa, Offer a tease,
then show them the carrot field! We didn’t see the Hammerhead’s
face there, but I can see the $$$ in Chubby-chunkous and the
Hornies eyes. Hey Gortha, I don’t know if that’s drool or you just
have hiccups, but wipe your mouth! heh…
No worries, if I didn’t have spell-check on most of
my comments would be confusing at best heh. I just
thought you meant the end of the story line anyway 🙂
I made some adjustments to the Sovol last night, after replacing the
fan in my filament dryer (bearings were shot), I ran a test on it,
the test piece looked great, until I tried to take it off, and it
broke apart. Grrrr… it’s still under-extruding. (face-palm…)
I had a similar problem. It turned out to be dust in the extruder.
I took off the nozzle – cold – extruded 10 mm, cut the protruding
filament and put the nozzle back. Voila! Fine prints again (until the
first layer stopped sticking to the bed. New extrusion mat and print
away. That’s where I ended up again after a couple hundred prints.
I’ve got a cleaning rod, It’s exactly 1.75mm. I did run out filament
and change the nozzle, maybe it’s clogged again. I had to replace
both the screen and the mainboard, due to an accidental short.
Which meant all my fine tuning and such had to be re-done.
(soft thudding is heard) Sovol is an almost exact copy of a Prusia mk3,
but with cheaper materials. $1200 for a Prusia, $250 for the Sovol v6.
Both the mainboard and the screen are carbon copies of the Ender 3.
I’m this: {} close to going 3rd party for that stuff!
Well, it’s almost 1:30, I’m on my 3rd test piece, here’s hoping
cleaning out the extruder and a new nozzle did the trick.
I need to make or find a better test piece, I’ve got SO many
little boats aka “benchies” that I’ve had to start pitching them.
I found an Open SCAD file made to produce a cart-coin with a handle
and some editable text on the ‘handle’ which I use for test prints.
My ‘discarded’ test pieces are quite popular among friends and family.
The test printouts are mostly without text but still useful…
Time changed in the U.S. last night. I went to bed at 20:00 as
usual. Got up at 05:00 as usual. Then sat down in my chair to
vote and kill time and noticed the time display on my tablet
read 04 something. Bummer. Now I gotta reset the clocks that
don’t set themselves.
Radio controlled clocks is the way forward 😉
I only (?) had 2 in house and both cars.
The parking thingy is reading DCF-77 (yay)
so no hazzle there…
Radio controlled clocks can help. Unless you have one from before
Congress changed the algorithm and shifted change by two weeks.
Now I have to set it FOUR times a year. When it misses the current
time change, then when it tries to implement what _was_ the
correct time change. And then do that again in the other half of
the year. No way to update its firmware.
A minor pain, and something to kvetch about. But cheaper
than replacing a device that is not really “broken”. It is
just the bedroom radio wakeup, There is no “on time” to
worry about on a Sunday morning :}
My father is very old-school, I hung a digital clock and he kept
complaining, so it’s back the old military style clock. I was the
only kid in 1st grade that didn’t know how to read a 12 hr clock!
heh… (Teacher, What’s AM and PM?)

The Cat sayeth nothing.

AND,, the money is theirs,.
they don’t have to pay all that “core” tax.
The school board won’t know what hit them.
What better way to get allies than
to give them a raise and carrots?
They’ve opened the door to them, they still have to walk through.

I think you meant “next EXCITING episode”, unless you’re exiting.
Sometimes I feel like exiting.
You’re right, it should be “exciting”.
*Sigh*

Depends on how many of the school board members end up resigning.

Catman, pls check mail. I sent you some renders and asked
a couple of questions. I think I have implemented your
couplers.

Does “Walker Goes To War” involve “UNCHAIN THE MIME!!”?
