It makes sense to me explain the benefits and the long term effects
but let them decide if it’s what they want otherwise it’ll come off
as pressuring them into it. The empire isn’t a “join or die” entity.
But it is a “don’t mess with me or mine” one lol.
Not an unexpected move, other than its abruptness. I thought Rexx
would want more information, possibly sending ‘observers’ to a few
of the already allied or incorporated worlds. (It would be hard to
do this incognito, of course. I suspect Rexx would enjoy playing
Risk more than poker.

Last panel.
I could have done it better, but that PDA they gave the King has a lot of
information on it, including documentaries from the other member worlds.
Maybe it’s just because I’m so jaded by today’s information sources,
but no matter how extensive, when I get information from only one
source, I put it in the “verify when possible” stack, the more so if
it’s information I want to hear or a position I want to agree with,
because I recognize how susceptible to confirmation bias my inner
fanatic is.
I think the statement that he wasn’t allowed to suggest that was the
last nail so to speak “we like you, here’s what you have to gain”
then wait for their request or rebuttal.

You must knock and ask permission to enter.
