Turkey Day trivia: You probably won’t believe it, but I had kin – with the same last name – at the first one. Not my direct line – that fellow didn’t come over until approximately a century later – but my name has been on this continents since 1620. Even did a term paper in High School about the Plymouth Colony and what happened to my kin. Oh, and Longfellow wrote a poem about my cousin.
I hope everyone had a good thanksgiving. Reading the news from the coasts, I have to say:
Here in rural Georgia, if a Sheriff’s deputy had come to our door, he’d have found himself seated at the table with a drumstick in front of him.
The kids would have loved it.
Things sure are different here in flyover country.
