That’s something that doesn’t add up in my book.
Let’s leave aside the fact that fossil fuels are by definition a limited resource.
They might last a few centuries, maybe even a few millennia, but they WILL run out eventually.
Let’s even leave out all the other problems like air pollution.
But:
They have the technology to move their entire species from one world to another and
they have the bio tech to terraform their new world to their needs.
And they’ve obviously found a decent enough planet to support humanoid life.
This would imply a day-and-night cycle, dry land and open water – thus a water cycle.
And, of course sunlight.
To support humanoid life the planet needs a wide variety of chemical elements including iron.
And if there’s iron on/near the surface, there should be stuff like uranium, too.
In other words they have a huge number of alternatives for energy:
Solar
Wind
Nuclear
Flowing water
…
Since they obviously have decent bio tech they could even make their
own fuel, if they feel like having to: find/design some kind of algae, plant or maybe
bacteria to produce methane or oil.
Why should not having fossil fuels be a problem? They have to built anything and everything
from scratch anyway.
Is building a couple of glass tubes and using them to grow some algae really more trouble
than finding an oil field, drilling for the stuff, refining it?
WEll, there are other possibilities than fossil fuel. As a technologically advanced culture they did not need to begin at scratch. There is waterpower, Windpower, solar power, wave power, geothermic power. It should be more than enough to satisfy any energy needs. Except the planet is poor on metals. But who would colonize such a planet?
other gentlemanly detail.. he will wait till she waves closing the door.
i smell a ,, Teresa deal, cooking… ,, more like a Palas/Chardis plan that Teresa will back..
It’s nice to see that Jami is human male, as much as he is a gentleman.
Catman, chk your email. Sent you something.
Actually, those skinny jeans don’t flatter her backside much. She looked better in the gi pants in 812 panel 4.
