Please make alternate access arrangements.” would have been polite. BUT, it’s not like they were reacting to a polite request to do the repaving. And I suspect the other shoe dropping will be a “temporary” toll booth “to recoup the cost of requested repairs” which is “temporary and will be removed after costs are recovered”. The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority has only recently stopped bothering with that meaningless disclaimer.
I note that the translation of Interstellar Standard English into current American English isn’t always perfect. Unless she was being facetious in using the word “painting” instead of “art” or “creating”. How old is Rendel? From the job he was holding I was assuming at least seventeen. But he is noticeably shorter than both his parents (and his mother is -tall-, appears to be a bit taller than his father).

Perhaps Rendel’s Mom actually does paint her sculptures. They used to do so in the ancient world. We’ve just become accustomed to seeing ancient art in bare stone because the sculpture outlasted the paint. I took an Art History class one semester to fill an elective requirement and learned that fact. I think it would be interesting to see a well preserved Greek sculpture realistically painted. Don’t you? If nothing else it would surely royally piss off the self-proclaimed art nabobs.
They paid for a major freeway between Dallas and Ft. Worth that way. Only took ’em 30 years to “pay it off” but they actually did open it up for free eventually.
Progressing on the HVAC module. This is as it would look set up.
