I dunno, don’t count her out. Knife missed her heart and lungs, and probably diaphram,
or she wouldn’t be talking this clearly.
Nicking the aorta or vena cava, or what I was suspecting, running right through the liver,
could cause her to be bleeding out internally but give her enough time to make this speech.
Or she could have just passed out from the shock. The solar plexus is a pretty important bundle of nerves.
I say not enough clues yet to know which way PC is taking this part of the story.
I can’t help but think about the trouble Chad would be in if he were a cop in today’s world, though.
He just dropped a stationary unarmed suspect who was not reaching for a weapon or threatening anyone, any more.
If he did care about Missy, that would just give him a personal motive and would make his situation worse.
I’ve thought about Jochi’s last three sentences off and on over the last several read-throughs.
One, this isn’t 21st century America. That country is dead. Two, in the previous
episode Chad was seen looking to his right in panel 3, and turned back just in time
to see Missy get stabbed. He yelled “Missy!!” in panel 4, then dropped the punk in
panel 1 above. Split-second decision, and while we had to wait, he didn’t.
There was probably half a second between her getting stabbed and him shooting the perp.
The perp had already shown intent, and ability.
Too dangerous to allow him to follow up if he had another weapon.
Also, let’s not forget that this group was planning regicide.
Panel four, episode 612, there were only two living survivors. Which means the rest
were killed. At least four, and that knife was the only weapon we saw among them.
Imp-Sec was not bound by our rules. Of evidence, or of action.
Well, Missy escaped the hangman’s noose the hard way…
She always was Stuck up.
