as for the Ego’s.. a quick trial to find out if it was “volunteer” (I would give anything so my BFF would live.!) ,, if not, bullet to the head,, an if it’s a brat, one for the parents.!!
Hmm. King isn’t The Law yet, just Kingpin. He and Captain Villines are basically in a relationship of mutual respect and tolerance, not friendship. And still an RCMP detective had both the knowledge and the means to send a private message to Angel through him. And either LeClerk knew she would head for North Jerico, or was tracking her, or was told as soon as she got there, or actually subtly nudged her in that direction.
Dammit I’m slow. Kimi doesn’t work for King, she works for Matthew, and the two organizations are not the same yet. That bit about not tolerating freelancers threw me off. That makes a LOT more sense. The list of ‘company benefits’ fit both organizations, too. I’d ask if they really wouldn’t have let her stay if she’d retired, but neither Matthew or King are really long on trust for those they don’t know. Besides, waiting table for Gary would be a waste of her talents (but then retirement usually is).
Remember, Matthew and Kimi are both (Pre-Fall) feds, so they have access to a lot of stuff.
It’s not part of the story, but as soon as they learned that Angel had arrived, Matthew called Det. LeClerk.
And no, she would have not been allowed to stay. But this way she gets a small retainer and has access to benefits.
the two organizations are not the same yet.. just a reminder.. who is best friends with who.. so King knew right after Matthew.. and after the fall , it would have been in the (weekly, daily, monthly..) report.
Considering the time for recovery and the risks of
transplants, even a low one, makes me wonder
why the hell anyone would want their limbs lopped
off for a fad?!? I do see it for super troops,
but a fad? Jeez…
