And unless I fouled something, A Catian year is somewhere near 280 Catian days long. (I got 278.28, but there are several very rough approximations in that.)
That also is he of depends on how far their planet is from it’s home star… Could be a bit closer than earth, as what we’ve seen of Catia is mostly tropical jungle in nature…

I like the philosophy, a lot like what I believe anyway. the question I have, is in the interest of TANSTAAFL who would pay for the drug users place of staying? and food and such? As I also don’t believe in non-profit type organizations, which lead to massive corruption, such as what happened with wounded warrior, or the vast amount of profit Goodwill makes, then doesn’t pass on to those in need. And I do not think the government should have anything to do with it.
I haven’t got that far. Maybe as part of a crime-control initiative? Part of the law enforcement budget?
Or maybe financed by insurance companies to lower claims for drug-related crimes?
Make some suggestions, please.
Part of that cost would be borne by the client, who would work for the establishment to the best of his ability as part of his rehab.
If COMPLETELY unable to work, he would be a ward of the State and a burden of the State.
Same for anyone ill or injured who did not have insurance.
And insurance would be annuities funded by the individual through private companies. These would be transferrable without penalty to a different company. This would be incentive for the companies to pay well and stay honest.
All of these things would take time to put into place.
Charities COULD exist, but would be treated as a corporation by the Government, no special treatment. The ones that went corrupt would die from lack of funding.
Just a few starting thoughts…
The only thing I’d quibble with is I’d rather see something competency-test driven rather than age-driven to establish one’s right to decide safety issues for oneself. But then, I’d like to see everyone pass the same test legal immigrants have to take to become citizens before they’re allowed to vote, and everyone pass a course in firearms safety and firearms maintenance before they get a high school diploma, maybe the same one now given for concealed-carry permits.
Testing gets into some murky waters. Who decides?
Currently, the dividing line isn’t age, it’s self-declaration of adulthood.

You’d be surprised at how much compressible space some of those files have. WinRar will let you compress a file and spread it out over multiple chunks of a predetermined size. What results would come out as (for example) miral_running_stl.001, miral_running_stl.002, … miral_running_stl.026 which WinRar could decompress to the original files. I now suspect I know why I might want to look at certain.obj and .stl files but the best way _I_ know how to get around individual file size limitations is to compress and split the files using a RAR file creator such as WinRAR.

As to the cost, I dunno. Depends on the size, resin costs $40.00/500mil. And I’ll leave the painting to someone else.

OK. Been doing some research. Got feelers out now. Doing background reading I get that .STL format is more commonly used as source but both have to be “sliced” for use by printers. May I ask what printer you have. The specs on it will tell me if the source (.STL or.OBJ) files have to be sliced to be usable by that printer.
Making any progress on preparing the source files for transmission?
I seem to remember that Poser has a conversion subroutine to enable 3d printing of figures created with that program. It would surprise me if someone hasn’t done the same for Dad Studio…

There was a experiment a few decades ago where they tested people underground with no natural light and no clocks of any kind.
Turns out, over time, the test subjects started living on a 27 hour day/night cycle.
They were down there for a month or so, and when the experiment ended, they wanted to know why they were being pulled out early…
So a 27-hour day by Earth standards. And nice move, giving them an Economic incentive to conform.
