Not quite my native tongue (western Ozarks), but similarities.
The only surprises there are that Miral called Kelly a Human (Of course, Terra may be classified info on this side of the wormhole) and that she didn’t toss the major a knife while pulling hers out. (Or like my Alan Rickman reference earlier, while pulling a spoon.)
I should have said “Explaining the word Terran would have taken more time and – worse – courtesy, and for all I know, the existence of Terra may be trusted-ears-only info on this side of the wormhole” But -I- was being lazy.
Kinda sad to see that the Captain won’t get to shoot the Major to protect the troops. Not exactly sure what the fine points of Cattian and Emperial law are here but I don’t much reckon anybody will object to her terminating that piece of garbage. One thing, though, It occurs to me that the Major, asshole that he is, might have formerly been in the Slaver equivalent of special forces and might know which end of a knifeould do more than is the business end. Not that that would be likely to accomplish more than keeping him alive to bleed longer. I really wish Cattians were more like earth cats and sometimes likedto play with their food a tad. Yeah, I want the son of a bitch to suffer. I want him to have to ask – POLITELY – for the coup de grace.
Catman, could you email me a link to where you found/bought the dragonfly gunship model? I’d like to dialogue with the model’s creator.
