The Lir Definitely have that issue with Humans. ‘they smell wrong- worse when fighting them. No tail! (and tails cover things). ‘where’s all the fur?’ ….. ‘why is there fur in places where we DON’T have fur?’

Reference Catia story TGW539 panel 3 (TGW539 panel 7???), had Melissa so spoken to me while I was grieving the loss of a loved one, two events would have occurred within the space of a second. 1) Melissa would have received every dyne of force I could have mustered delivered through my left hand (fist, actually) to her nose with the (desired result) of breaking said proboscis (and splattering it across her face). and 2) four parallel slashes would have appeared down her left cheek. Nobody, I say again NO-FEKKING-BODY has the right to tell someone else how they ought to grieve!!! As someone entirely TOO well acquainted with grief I am qualified to make that call. When, how, how often and HOW LONG someone grieves is nobody’s business OR SAY but the person grieving. One is certainly not allowed to tell the person grieving “Suck it up, and soldier on.”
Sorry, Catman, but to my way of thinking that line of Melissa’s was the same as telling you to “Suck it up, Princess” the day after that awful (wish English had a better word) in Germany so long ago.
Just thought of something. In panel 8 the Ghurka addressed Miral as “Captain”. Is that Captain” as in O-6, ship-driver, eagles-on-collar “Captain”? Or O-3, two-steps-above-butter-bar “Captain”? And it that a brevet rank or permanent?
It’s O-3. The Navy is transitioning to Army rank structure to simplify communication, except for flag ranks like Admiral.
Spike is actually a Major, and Viktor and Mistrial Borogrov are Colonel and Admiral.
The Marines follow the Army progression also, as does the Legion and the Ghurkas.

I would assume, though, that the commander of a vessel would still be the only person addressed as ‘Captain’ aboard that vessel, regardless of rank. Some traditions are very hard to change.
Skipper of a vessel = Captain even if the Skipper is a butter-bar Ensign. And (IIRC) under such conditions an O-6 honest-to-goodness Navy Captain would address said butterbar as “Captain” if they were on the latter’s dingy.
I have a feeling there will be dragonflies. I don’t think Kathy will lie outright, but I think she will not tell the whole truth. IE my eyes get funny when I’m very, very angry. You could be right with #1 Jochi. It is the safest but I still think she will tell and deliver dragonflies from the little red dragon.
