Well, the last frame brings up an interesting question or two.
I assume grain alcohol has the same effects on Catians as Humans, as both are carbon-based lifeforms.
Does catnip do anything for them?
Catnip is kind of a euphoric, like nitric oxide.
They metabolize everything quickly, so alcohol doesn’t do much. The amount they’d
need to get drunk would kill a Terran, and they wouldn’t stay drunk for long.
I can’t get used to how LITTLE the twins are. When they were introduced they weren’t standing next to adults much. Are they that young, or just short for their ages? Nice of the guy to give Stacey a welcome-guest gift like that, but I bet he didn’t lay in enough for all of them.
Jeyta looks nice in — what’s the right word? Terran is too general, there is no more US and America is just the name of two continents and a hemisphere again. Western seems way too dependent on a reference frame that’s also gone and Imperial is inaccurate. Country doesn’t invoke the hat. Whatever, she looks nice. And it looks like little sister Chira is expecting a dressing-down from big sister, even though this is unlikely to be the first time they’ve met since returning to Empire space, and even though Chirk hasn’t really had time to establish herself as an authority figure in Chira’s life yet. Those three girls are going to need SOMEONE to rein them in, though, I expect.
Well, for reference, Jonathan is 6’2″.
Christina is 11 years old and Larissa is 10.
I just think of the style as “Western”, not in the cowboy sense. Other styles have kept their names as well,
as the styles haven’t changed, except that “Imperial” style will be based on Teresa’s tastes, known now as
“Gothic”.
Chirk thinks that Chira’s escape was funny. But yeah, the three will get into some… things. Soon.
I did mean Stacey and Jimmy. I don’t think they were ever called twins in the comic, but someone called them that in commentary. And I was referring to Chira’s facial expression and body stance in panel 4. I couldn’t read Chirk’s, but the lips did look a little grim.
My wife used to wear clothes like that,
