It’s nigh impossible to teach a people to be free,
who have never been free, and don’t even have
a concept of being free.
This will be a long-term multi-generation project.
Are there teachers, economists, bankers, etc
willing to live on a slave planet their entire lives,
raising their own families in that environment?
Not to harsh your mellow, but sounds like the
classic definition of “colonialism”.

From what I was reading I get the impression they were free until these
jokers moved in and took their freedom away. It won’t be hard to teach
the Elders what freedom and responsibility is in the terms the Empire
uses. Then the Elders pass it on in the traditional way. The Empire teaches
self-dependence, that might be the hardest to teach. There will be some
races that were enslaved long enough to forget what freedom means,
but not all, and the one’s that learn the true meaning of freedom can and
will share with the others. It won’t be fast, it won’t be easy, but the
Empire’s direct control will fade a lot faster than you think.
Ah, he’s just grousing because they showed him up in
a huge way. They landed, but instead of actual scouting
they rescued a royal family, got entrance to a royal
vacation home, and are now friendly guests of the royal
family. Without firing a shot, It’d miff me too…
Katrina basically disarmed the corrupt leadership and told then to f*k off.
Leaving them dependent on the Empire for everyday survival. Good job,
now their own people will see just how worthless they truly are and in
time, rejoin the galaxy.
Now now Gupta, it’s not nice to shoot up your own people… Even if
they do deserve it heh. Ah, so it was his parents, well hopefully this
will be the push to get them away from the slaver way of thinking.

they are content.! .. (IF you cut any one program,. there will be
rioting in the streets with in the hour.!!!)
it is the independent, (not the herd.) that want a different way.
The problem with both of the slaver races are they were cruel
and TOOK control, not offered it. With needless deaths all around.
I doubt too many complains will come up at first with any of the
slaves, it’s mostly the Howler/Demon everyman that’s going to
whine and cry since their slaves (AKA playthings) were taken
away. I’m sure once the slaves see that they are freed and
protected, few will complain about it, mostly about transport home.
And maybe revenge for their fallen since both of the slavers did
so much harm to their slaves. “It’s just a child, you can make more”
says it all.

with their own kind. The comment of find her, was responded to by asking for clarity,
then explaining that they were not on duty, rather than an automatic response of
‘Yes, your highness’. Meaning that orders can be questioned or discussed, rather than
blindly obeyed on fear of pain or death. Though his insisting on her presence, right
away, tells me that he does have a fairly extensive authority, but does not tend
to use that level of demand, all that often.
I think this is old, but it is still
current. the PC and ignorance statement is
the scary part, but people still keep their

Sounds like in P8 that G-pa is about to force the young
prince to marry. Typical for royalty, “must” have an heir.
