Hell High? Sounds like my high school! In what way, in all that’s holy,
is “Hell High” is racist? I’m starting to think Allbrech took over Big Red’s
school. I’m starting to think Hell High is what became Purgatory. From
hell to purgatory sounds like a step up!
I had a hunch that the “core worlds” was a shaky alliance at best, too
many greedy people in charge doesn’t make for a “safe work
environment.” Clearly many of the low and middle management slots
are sick of the BS too. I’m getting an idea of what the plan is, but I’d
rather wait for PC, I’ve been way off base before
I’m expecting the next new core race to be something like a cross
between the hornies and the shitbats, with a little dragon thrown
in, like a stylized version of the anime depiction Incubus/Succubus
type of creatures, more aggressive than the shitbats, but much
more intelligent. Blood red skin, (not fur) hoofs for feet, horns like
a major demon, 7 feet tall, thick arrow head barbed tails, voice like
an angry growl, and yellow, cat-like eyes that turn black when they
dilate in anger or fear.
Maybe they are one’s with the FTL ships? Just a thought PC…

“Childhood’s End”. (AWESOME storyline, a must read)
Was watching a movie (forget which one at the moment)
and it brought that to mind. Nothing truly new under the sun.
Similar to something RAH said about stealing
storylines and filing off the serial numbers.
Interesting, I might look that up. My wife’s been crushing on the devil guy
on the TV show Lucifer, she’s rewatched up to season 4 now… sigh…
To be tall, hansom, rich, and with an English accent… Cheeky SOB…

It wasn’t a series, it was (had to look and research) a three part mini-series, 2015, SciFi Channel, (4 hours)(?) of the book.
And again, IIRC, very well done, and closely followed the book.
At least it made a favorable impression to me. (But it’s been a few years)
(Now I need to go online and see if I can buy a TPB or hardback copy.
The book copy I have is an old paperback, in storage, probably fallen apart.
Oh, and see if there’s a DVD of the movie)

and small freighters. First one is coming of the ways
as soon as the production team solves a really interesting
glitch which popped up just recently. Soon there’ll be
quarter-mile long bulk freighters and smaller fast
freighters everywhere.

Actually I was picturing Tim Curry’s devil character
from that weak Tom Cruise movie “Legend” from 1985,
toned down quite a bit of course…
