I wondered about if the device mentioned in TGW-080.5 panel 5, was ever considered
as a gravity hand grenade, that sounds like a good Dragonfly weapon to me.
Damn! Those Dw’flys could sow some serious chaos in a battle.
Port into a barracks room and drop a couple of grenades then
pop in and out as the troops are arming themselves always
around chest height. Friendly fire massacre!
A mini-grenade could be created that would be easier for
them to carry, maybe not as much damage, but still create
mayhem. Like the difference between a 12 gauge and a 16.
That’s the fun thing. They don’t have to carry them. Just
hold them so they get teleported with them and then they
can already let them fall to teleport out.
Nightcrawler of the X-Men used to teleport, hit a guy,
teleport, hit the next. Within seconds he knocked out
four guys that literally didn’t know what hit them.
Another teleporter got the nickname ‘everywhere-at-once-
killer’ among other nicknames. Take a teleporter like
Nightcrawler and give him an energy weapon like a phaser.
A species were most members are short-range teleporters
(20-50 meters) used their ability to enhance their skills
as thieves. Whenever they could not get through the
security systems, they teleported around them. They used
it sparingly out of pride for their skills and keep their
ability as their ace. Because there are ways to give
teleporters serious problems In my opinion teleporters
are underappreciated.
? M-134’s at 2,000 rpm that’s a minutes worth of (sustained) fire.!.?
carried by each team,. (oh, that’s 33rps) and that’s the slow fire.
IF it’s the XM-214 (5.56mm) then you have 500rpms (@7.6rps) an
the ability to carry 3,000 rounds per team.. possibly 4k rs..
useless info: the movie Predator , they went through 10 backpacks
(@500rs per pack),. 6 for the final dump.! not including re-shoots.
a 3rd of the budget went to ammo.!!
That is a serious range of fire-power. I know the one in
the predator movie, half the time it was a fake and when
they used the real thing they had it on a boom. Jessie
Venturia had suffered a serious issue with his lung
bleeding, it’s why he retired from wrestling, so while
maintaining his build, he was limited on what he could
safely do on camera.
Double pun there.
“Roger” is also a sign of communications
acknowledgement.
To acknowledge a communications from the rabbit,
your response would be, “Roger, Roger”.
Going to make passing messages through him rather interesting.
Give Roger a nickname?
Traditional for a radio operator is “Sparky”.
(harkins back to the days of the spark gap radio)
The fireflies can take out the block house members, and through
some unseen mayhem throughout the stockade. They could easily
drop a dozen ‘nades before anyone knew what was going on!
Give them basic ops training before they go, very good idea. If they
have an idea of what it’ll be like after training, it’ll motivate
them to work harder to get through training. A white bunny? No red
eyes so she’s not an albino, my wife’s was an albino and we had to
make sure her cage was clean or she’d get sick. It’s partly why we
gave her up, my wife couldn’t handle the smell and I was working
extra hours so we could buy our first house.
I have an awful feeling about the top story, but I’ll keep
it to myself until I know more of how the battle goes.
02:00 – Is there a full moon? “realistic” levels would seem very dark to someone
sitting in a lighted room watching a monitor. But for someone there, who has had
time for their eyes to adjust, might not be all that bad. There were times at
scout camp being annoyed with noobies that just had to carry a high power lantern
all the time, instead of getting to know the woods. When needed extra light on
the trail, a pocket mag light was enough :}
“Warship Terran Alliance 0988S” – Is that a simple sequential serial number?
Almost a thousand ships – that would be counting all models & sizes?
My eyes were pretty bad, even as a young man I needed a fair amount
of light to see, so I wouldn’t of been able to help much. If you go by the
lighting outside the apc ship, I’d say it’s a red moon, not ideal but it would
still help. Red moon AKA harvest moon is when the moon is low in the sky
at night. That would mark this as mid-fall, I seen it pretty much every year
when I was a kid.
That number started with the prototype that they flew to the moon, and
with the orbital stations they have at Terra now they can crank out a ship
in just a few weeks so there would be easily hundreds waiting for crews
by now.
I just looked back, TGW-116 shows the first ship to be DESN STINGER PC00…
I can’t quite make out the last number I’ll have to keep reading until I can see
the full number but I’m pretty sure it’s 001.
TGW-136, the prototype Dagger was marked DESN F003 making it the 3rd ship built.
Space truck was marked DESN 027, So I’m guessing even the workers support bays
were counted. You can figure they could crank out a dagger in a few days so there
must be a crap ton of them in the ship bays and in orbit right now.
They aren’t necessarily in sequence. 0988S might break down as:
0 – Destroyer Class
9 – Pteran Navy
8 – 8th Squadron
8 – Peacekeeper Force
S – Something-something
I really haven’t thought about it.
It’s the Kirlean Storm, the Arctos II’s companion ship that was escorting the
Catia’s Pride from Ptero. Since their ultimate destination was Dogishua,
the three decided to leave her in this system and escort the damaged ship
there, so as to salvage it and get the Captain and crew on a new build
Pteran/Imperial destroyer.
Captain Kte’rrt has a hybrid crew from the damaged ship, including her
Captain so that they can familiarize themselves with the new ship type.
His XO and much of his crew are aboard the damaged ship.
Np I just wanted to make sure.
my part has finally arrived from
China, now it held up in customs
at the airport! (grumbling) 2
WEEKS! It only took a week to
get a replacement print head…
I had an idea that would come in handy during the war, a rescue ship,
crewed entirely by androids, with the “berths” in the center of the
ship, the AI running the ship would be the captain. These ships could
be a rescue ship to be sent out to recover any survivors from combat.
Ooh! Teleport in, let go the grenade while holding on to the pin.
Teleport out. Someone is in for a RUDE surprise !!!
I would of been disappointed if they
didn’t suggest that! You go lil guys!
It was a reader’s suggestion a long time ago,
I wish I could remember who.
In a discussion about how much mass
a Dragonfly could teleport.
I was thinking of that exact convo when I saw this morning’s piece.
I doubt it was me, I only said I wondered if they would be willing
to take part in combat back when the arc started with Sunny.
I went back to TGW-1002 and I didn’t see it.
I was only talking about them doing recon.

How’d I miss that?!?

I had the very same thought when I logged in heheh…
I wouldn’t put him on comms,
then anyone that talked to him would have to go
“Roger Roger Roger” heheh…
No battle plan survives first
contact with the enemy.
Best to you, Legionairres and dragonflies.
I’d agree, but I doubt the first one
to say it never met the dragonflies!
But yes, this might cost a bit more
than anyone is thinking.

Is she really a white bunny?
Or just a Mostly White bunny?
She has gray hair on her head, after all.
Where’s the Red shirts?
Hopefully they are in the block buildings
and guarding the kid! If not,
lets hope they WILL be after the battle!

Where did you see that? I can’t see any markings.
Panel 8, look past the top of the captain’s chair, just above the view screen/window.
Hard to tell if it’s a letter “S” or a number “5”.
look again, it’s 0988S
and if you look at the back
of the chairs in panel 7
it’s A098,.

Oh ok, we were thinking it was like ST,
the number of ships built were the
serial number.
Maybe change that to a H – hybrid.
If that’s the Actos II that’s what it is.
