“..they don’t shit where they live.” Sounds
like what got King started, oh, so long ago.

I have a hunch we haven’t see the last of Glass after this story!

    Question for Catman:
The upper story is taking place on Lamia a few years in the past, right?
IMS Wilson was a captain when the Empire freed Catia. Am I on the beam?

You are correct. The Catian War is about ten years in the future.

Scarsdale, is this what you wanted? How does the price compare to Amazon?

Yeah, that’s actually a better version to what I was looking at, so the higher price fits.
The one I was looking at was the Mono 4K so it’s a better, more actuate printer.
My office trailer took some damage in the storm, I’ve got more repairs to do now ;(
Tornado missed us thankfully it got completely dark outside for a hour, what light
there was, was green! Got pretty tense there! Damned tree branch hit a window,
the very one I was going to vent fumes through… Wrecked the frame too, I’d got
to head to the hardware store here in a bit to get something to cover it with for now.
It’s taking me so long because since I have such a small kidney, I tire quickly,
frustrating me, so it’s going to take a while to get things setup right. Luckily both my
FDM printers were in the house, so no serious issues there. I did find out there’s a
Microcenter that opened near by, they carry everything I need for my print farm!

I’m glad you made it through relatively unscathed, you
are one of the most entertaining commenters here.
Did you see the 10% off Anycubic coupon?
I really like my little Photon S,
I wish I had more time to experiment with 3D printing.

Heh, I try to be. I’m more fun in person, Like when I was a lead in the shop,
I knew how to joke and tease my guys to motivate them! I’m also one of
those guys that can turn a phrase or wisecrack back on someone to shut
them up or embarrass them, like if someone tells me to fuck off, I’d say no
thanks, I might get a disease. Or someone calls me gay, (one of my least
favorite comments) I turn it back by asking if their looking for love. I hate
people that say things like that, I despise bigots! grrrr…

I know what you mean about the time, If I wasn’t “retired” I wouldn’t
have tried to do this. The CAD programs are rough to get the hang of,
I should just take a course for it. Mainly because I have trouble
retaining the instructions so I have to go back and review if I need
          a function I don’t use often.

After both my eyes heal/settle down (likely end of September)
I hope to get back into 3D modelling and hopefully printing.
It’s been nearly 2 years since I did any.

Glad you “only” have to replace one window, could’ve been much much worse.

The glass is easy, the crappy metal frame is going to be rough to replace.
The trailer is an old office trailer from the 90s, so I may have to go
to a junk yard to find a replacement.

I replaced some windows in my 1974 trailer by measuring the opening
and going to Lowe’s and ordering modern plastic-framed triple paned
windows to fit. The ones I didn’t replace I covered with aluminum
foil backed sheets. The cost wasn’t too bad.
Helped my electric bill quite a bit.

That’s a thought, these are double windows, one pane slides over the other.

Technically, mine are double paned then, as one slides over the other.
But each section has three panes with argon gas in between them. If
the sun hits them directly, you can hold your hand to the glass and
not feel heat. The one in my living room I ordered without the
sliding section because that was where I mounted the AC unit.

These aren’t very big, it did have a built-in AC/heater unit set in the wall,
the windows move horizontally, so a standard window would be easier
to run the vent hose through. This trailer has bars on the windows and
a heavy bar that locks the only door, or I wouldn’t of even thought about
it. We didn’t have much in the way of crime here, but since that subdivision
                  was started it’s gone up.

Very glad you were not hurt and only a window was broken.

        Thank-you.

If I looked back at my life too closely, I’d have to facepalm so many times

I’m glad you came through okay and with such minimal damage. As one who has been
within 1 mile of F-1 tornados 4 times I know how scary those things can be. Did you get
any hail? I associate the green light (nobody who hasn’t seen it can truly appreciate just
how green the light gets) with hail. We once had hail punch a fist-sized hole in our roof.

Might of been, we were in the basement during the worst of it.
hate it down there, it’s a “wet” one (no I won’t go there 😉 )
Soon as I seen it was green I had to walk both my wife and my
father down those damned stairs, I’ve slipped on them a few
times! My sister’s place has one, My father’s is a modular.
To ber honest, it’s more of a under ground well house, not
          much room.

Starting to sound like Capt. Glass would of made a good officer in the Empire,
maybe this is leading up to a current day story line? He does seem to work
    like Matthew and Johnathan…

Chardis does seem to show up like the cavalierly at times, a little late but
    better than nothing!

I feel while the Pride and the P’teran destroyers are in the system this is a perfect
time for the Sparrow and the other P’teran ship to run to Earth for repairs/resupply
and Capt. Te’gin to get the hybrid upgrades while Taritha hammers out things with
the Prime Alpha. This way they can protect the system and the “maybe” new
    members/friends.
