Captain Mike is doing some serious thinking;
perhaps a change of allegiance coming up.
Especially if he is the highest ranked officer of the survivors!
Panel 6 is a minor surprise to the Hammerhead pilots.
Panel 7 is a surprise to them and there
are more to come in the following pages
(such as Elias being a crew member).
I wonder how long it will take them to realize the big surprise –
that the size of the ship is far too small to accommodate any
known power source or enough conventional weaponry to
account for its known and suspected military performance.
I think Capt. Mike was remembering how Matthew was back in the day
and what to expect will be the Empire’s next move, or hoping he can.
I commented the same last page, one of them asking where the drive
fuel tanks and reactors were. I’m sure their asking to see the
engine room and such wouldn’t be well received.

part of your comment, not part of the comic (yet).
And they would still be thinking in terms of conventional reactors.
I suspect they will be thinking of an antimatter drive to explain
the discrepancy.
That’s what I meant, that I had commented
about one of them asking that. Not that one
of them actually doing that, only seeing battery
banks. I doubt the Captain would be ok with
them looking at the engine room.

I’m liking Capt. Mike more and more, he’s remembering
what Matthew is like but it might be a bad idea to think
he can predict what Teresa will do. Yes she is a Daddy’s
girl but she’s also seen the evil behind the eyes of a few
as well. “I tire of having to kill to teach them a lesson”
He will have to prove they are worth helping.
I knew that was going to happen! Heh… At least the other
pilot knew enough to shut him up with a well-placed elbow.
I can tell Kaden was about as happy to see them as I would
of been to see the dentist’s needle, at least he did warn
them about insulting a Catian (starting the OOPS! counter).
I think Captain Chardis will allow them to breach the security on
the cargo bay and see the fighters but a security alert brings two
cat crew members before they can learn anything and a fight breaks
out. The hammerheads learn how tough the cats are even without
weapons. Captain Chardis orders them off the ship warning them
only ‘the ire of the queen’, if she killed them has saved their life.

IE: the ‘cargo bay’ sign is actually the female showers,.
hyper-pulse imploding missile launcher(fake) goes to Captains room.
and IF you really want to be mean.. walk them around the ship for
an hour, constantly changing the “layout / look” so,,,
they don’t know the layout, and think the ship is much bigger…
Or the FTL drive room, which contains cleaning supplies
Oh! How about a nice conversation with one of the AI’s
on board! “Hello, I am the living brain of the ship, do
you have any questions?” That would REALLY freak them
out! “Psst! They MAKE people? How? WHY?” (Capt. Chardis
giggling, trying to keep a straight face)
FTL room,, yes that.
i did not mention the AI’s,. because the AI’s are new.!
they (Catia’s Pride) do NOT know how they (Core) will react to the AI.!

“and we must destroy all who would create it.!”
2) “that is exactly what we want!”
“we will kill any, who get in our way of obtaining it.!”
3) “Oh.” “synthetic slaves.” “we will take a dozen.”…
but.. i do like the idea of ‘disembodied’ voice whispering to them
as they try to pick the lock.. (“the key is under the mat..”)

I’d say all the above, if they can’t have it, they’ll use it as an excuse to
do the former. The core wants the status-quo not the changes the IMM
will force onto them. Even if it betters the life for all, simply because
they want it for themselves only. I don’t doubt at some point, even if
they agree publicly, there will be secret plans to over come the IMM and
the Empire. “Primitives must stay primitives!”
