“But people need to be controlled.” Yup. Yup. By other, SMARTER people who know what’s best for the
“lesser folk” and have no compunction imposing their
view of what’s best for those people. Heaven protect
us from those who consider themselves our betters.
“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the
good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would
be better to live under robber barons than under
omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty
may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be
satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will
torment us without end for they do so with the approval
of their own conscience.” C. S. Lewis
“Now, now, Daddy knows best” or
“BECAUSE I SAID SO” or
“You don’t like the laws I make?
(Kli-kack) my friend disagrees”.
Anytime someone in government decides they know best,
odds are they know little to nothing, it’s just control, and
at the people’s cost. Advice, education, and simple laws
that makes a good government, not total control. I once
read a short story that talked about there being 3 basic
types of people, not just humans, but of all races in the
galaxy. There’s the “sheep” the simple folk that just
wants to live and be free to choose, the “shepherds” that
want to guide and care for the sheep, and the “wolves”,
the one’s that only want to devour the other two, and to
herd whats left to make even that easier for them to
consume. I felt it was very fitting…
I’m starting to like Capt Mike, he does seem to understand the
Empire far better than his soon-to-be-late bosses. Good! That
gives me hope he’ll be the one in control after the sky stops
falling.
There was a marked difference between the way he talked to the
man running the apple orchard and to Babydoll. I assumed it was
because only one of them had weapons trained on him. But maybe
there’s more to his story.
When the man put him in his place, instead of many getting
mad and assaulting the old man he owned that lesson, so
that alone earned a few points. Now this situation shows
he keeps a level head where most would be in a panic or
pissed and reaching for a gun. I think He’s a soft bigot,
but able to learn.
His soon-to-be-ex-bosses are about to “see the light” for the last time.
What they did to the Catian pilot can’t even be considered a War Crime.
They executed the pilot because of pure prejudice.
“It’s just an animal, why would anyone care?”
It’s the excuse the slavers used, as well as
the rapists, just a weak excuse to commit a
crime, nothing more. Justice is on it’s way!

all liberals in the classical sense. Today’s liberals
are some of the least liberal people on the planet.
And, for the record, they’re not really interested in
genuine progress, either.
Sorry, I have no idea what happened. I was using the
same (16 pt) font size as always, but it came out
smaller this time. It won’t happen again.
Don’t know why I didn’t notice it – brain spaz, I guess.
I’ve changed the size to 22 pt, it comes out just a hair
larger than before,
not even noticeable.
No big, I had that happen when I was doing some html coding,
there’s a set of key strokes that does it, I’ve never figured
it out, to fix it I had to copy/paste the entire code to a
txt file and back again to my editor after restarting it.
I had Win98 at the time so that was part of it.

Can you fix that for me? Not sure why that message appears.
Wifey update: She’s doing pretty well, mostly complaining (eye-roll)
she starts out-patient PT in a couple of day, she’s been walking the
kitchen/dining room twice a day. I think the worst is over, at least
until the bills start to pile up… sigh…
Transplant and joint replacement are the most costly (next to brain
surgery) I’m dreading the bills.
I just ran across this on YouTube and to be honest?
I can relate to what he’s saying. It was hard as

future for long range space flight. It’s a theory,

Smart man, that Lewis fellow. Not a bad writer, either.

Two sides of the same coin; rights, and responsibilities.

Anybody here knows Kant?
Oops. Sorry he was a liberal 😉

I’d say that I like libertarians less, but
1st : I did mention this here before, so it’d be redundant
2nd: it would be a political statement.
The fonts got small and the balloon colors all went white.
Harder to read for these old eyes.
Fully agree. The font in this page is
like half of what it used to be.
I need to zoom in to read it…
Agree completely. Just to make sure I went back
and looked at the previous strips.
Definitely smaller font in today’s installment.
I noticed that too, I had to zoom in the page to read it.

If you have not yet discovered the Sage, Thomas Sowell,
there are many YouTube videos featuring his work available.

You had too many links. More than one is not allowed,
or I get too many spam comments.

Good news for her, although kind of hard on you.
Just part of being a good man.
It’s worth it, I want her to be around for longer than me
so yeah call it selfish… 😉
We met with her doc, they are going to try a new med for osteoporosis.
(crosses fingers) Pretty scary how brittle her bones are.

The Empire is like a pet tiger, pet it, feed it, and
it will love on you like any other cat would.
Just don’t act threatening or step on it’s tail!
I just seen this, makes the very point I’ve been saying for years.

Thanks, that was very good,
and of course it’s true,
but not just about NYC!
No it’s not, I lived in the Gary, IND area, not much different.
Good Lord! I’ve driven around Gary, IN! Wasteland! Scary.
I’m happy you’ve returned!
Thank you Petercat. It was years ago and I lived to tell the tale!
