Seriously? Two of his buddies just fatally feathered and he’s still focused on the no-longer-an-issue ex-prisoner? Should have gone for the shotgun or dove for cover from the direction the arrows were coming, preferably both. The average IQ of the human race is definitely going up. In addition to the … what would you call it, average ethical quotient?
..these guys are not average.. example: real world incident,. convenient store robbery, 3 armed assailants, (1 sawed off greener, 1 long barrel pump, an 1 large bore revolver.) 2 at front (1 behind counter), 1 in back.. i walk in , jam .45 in leaders face, tell em to surrender, an they all drop weapons..
another,, also 3 bad guys (manchettes) , shot the first, 1 surrenders, last jumps out window an runs off..
an a half dozen, one on one, all armed, but as soon as i drew my weapon, they surrendered…
… 12 people all armed.. but as soon as they knew they were going to die. gave up…
but, that does not make for a good story..
Actually, I think it has a lot to do with the fight or flight instinct. While most military training is focused on either overcoming the flight instinct while reinforcing the fight instinct, most civilians, (police, firemen and EMT type individuals, excluded) really don’t have this sort of training, and the flight instinct is harder for them to ignore. Seasoned criminals, with firearms experience, likewise become less likely to flee in an armed conflict, although they’re less likely to stand and fight than would military people.
Then, there are those people who become so focused on attacking a particular target, they lose sight of other dangers…
Catman,
Please email me. Can’t find your email address and I have a couple of things to discuss private channel. Nothing world shattering, just would like to correspond privately.
OK, I’ll admit my ignorance. What was the >PHUMP< one panel after impact, and is it just me or is his abdomen distended? I've never heard of this being that quick a metabolic reaction to punctured organs, and her tips didn't LOOK like they carried mini-grenades…

Exploding arrowhead, as Rob put it earlier, Rambo-style.
The one with the blue vanes was a normal broadhead.
Thanks. Also explains why she went for the torso shot.
