That or a limitation of the CGI rendering process. My experience (woefully limited though it is) with such software would cause me to suspect that the software essentially treats clothes like an additional layer of texture over the 3D model. Therefor one would expect that it would follow the model’s contours.
Never worked with the software but that makes sense. I still like the in-universe explanation. I wanted a tie like that, back when I wore them. Had to make due with tie clasps and pins.
