don’t know if you got my email.. but, second panel, behind Doc’s shoulder (4th shelf) ,, is missing, the shelf…
group therapy = Cats , is called a Clowder,, Kittens , is called a Kindle.. an rarely Kittens is called a “intrigue.”.. so for adults can call it “Clowder Therapy.” an for kids can call it “Kindle Therapy.” , like Katherine ..
the back ground art looks half real an half art.. except panel 7, which looks like just the birds were added..
panel 8, is one of the “other” units,, im guessing ..
I got your email and replied. The missing shelf is missing in the original set, I’ve turned it in to Customer Service, hopefully the artist will fix it.
The backgrounds in 5-7 are all photographs, #7 is the Savannah Wildlife Refuge.
Panel #8: Always gotta be one in every crowd. That asshole’s gonna get good men KIA needlessly. He’s the kind of officer that generates – and JUSTIFIES – fragging incidents.
My thoughts almost exactly. The aircraft alone should be evidence they aren’t fighting an enemy limited to pre-industrial tech. I started to say he could be expected to suspect a trick, since while the flyers indicate their enemies aren’t all Catians, they aren’t evidence, could be lies. But the evidence he DOES have should at a minimum recommend caution.
Something makes me suspect the “one person” she reacted strangely to is Teresa. I remembered wrong, thought it was Cathy who went in the cave.
Sixdays again. I’d like to see their calendar eventually, or at least know how it’s set up.
We don’t really know how long a year, or a day, is on either Catia or Lamia, or whether either even HAS one or more moons. Or have I forgotten something said about Catia’s?
Teresa and Robert went into the cave first, Robert came out because the abused kids were terrified of him. Then Kathy went in and returned to hunt monsters. http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-099/
The bit about Miral’s age I had forgotten tells us Catia’s year is about 6/7 of Terra’s. So, if the length of a day is about the same, there are about as many sixdays in a Catian year as weeks in an Earth month. We don’t know if sixdays are from Catia’s calendar or something imposed by Lamia. I don’t recall either humans or Catians mentioning months (but I didn’t remember Miral’s age in two different units either) or whether either Lamia or Catia has a moon or multiple moons. If they don’t, it’s possible the unit of time we call “month” might never have been created. If they have multiple moons, such units might be very complicated, unless the moons are in orbital resonance like Io, Callisto and Ganymede of Jupiter.
The fact that Petercat posted that delightful website illustrating spatial distances in the solar system a while back tells me he is as fascinated by things like this as I am, so I am fairly sure he has all this at least roughed out, and we’ll learn more when it is appropriate, like learning about the other nonhuman sapient species besides dragons. But the fact that they use a “week” of six days is a clue into it, and I think it’s one that was deliberately seeded. I appreciate the work that goes into worldbuilding like this, and think it deserves being pointed out.
Now I’m wondering if there’s a connection between the ‘smugglers’ who were bringing that vile cult victims and the gang that are holding Ryan and Julie’s home town. Not that we really need more reason to hate either.

Am I seeing giant ferns behind the soldiers? That is Interesting…. was this a young world, Colonized?
No, that’s a photo I took in Georgetown, a suburb of Savannah.
Ok, but… that doesn’t alter my question.
Patience, Gary. Patience.

Yup he’s a murdering officer as opposed to a killing officer.

As for years, Miral was 14 Catian years old when she was 12 Terran years old.
http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-257/ and 258.
i think Jochi was asking for,, the planetary ‘day’ , week , month , year, as too compared to our, 24h , 7d, 30/31d, 365d..

I am thinking it is Robert. He is the first ‘good guy’ they saw. He was the one that freed them from the cave first.
Robert had to come out because the kids were terrified of him.

Darn wrong guess again. Thanks for a great comic.
