It’s Puss’N’Boots stomping time. The Col .is in for night time swim and clothes washed at the same time. The ladies coiffures are going to look a little bedraggled. Jumping in the lake with those hoop skirts is going to be “interesting” to say the least. I can’t wait.
The second panel was Purrrfect. But what really got me was just how BIG our black cat looks in the midst of those glowing eyes… like moons orbiting a Planet.
I’ll get back to creating more pages in a minute, but first:
Minka doesn’t know very many Cats, but because Mavia works for her, they know a lot about her.
That’s why they’re gathering around, to meet her.
This is deliberate, the Cats know that they are a small minority, so they are building as many powerful social and economic networks within the Empire as they can, to reduce their vulnerability. They’re preparing for the time that they are no longer a novelty, and have already encountered bigotry. There are, for example, businesses where they are not welcome, and people like the protestors that Chira and the Walker girls have encountered. This is yet another reason that the Empire decided to make Garion the King of Jerico.
Mavia and Negron: Minka and the corporate world.
Jochi and Garion: Teresa and the Imperial government.
Felah and Lessa: The medical establishment.
Chira and Chirk: The Walkers and education.
Miral, Azehy, and the other military Cats were unplanned serendipity.
Now back to creativity.
I’m inclined to take Steven at face value — he did score a card before tonight — but it occurs to me that he had to have known a bit about Gilbert’s attitudes before this, and, if he were sufficiently Machiavellian, using him as a sacrificial lamb just scored him a seat at the most desirable table in the joint. And I wonder what the light source behind him and Gilbert was the cats’ eyes were reflecting — or if glowing in the dark under certain emotions is a heretofore un-noticed ability of theirs. Could have advantages and disadvantages for a nocturnal predator.
i wood say , Glowing ,. or unnoticed ability (both, both is good) .. they have light seepage around the eyes (cheeks) an muzzle ..
an Steven, face value,, he could not know Minka was here, as was not planned event.. that said,, unless he wanted to get closer to a specific Cat…
tho now i think on it.. this could be Mavia , match making…
I think Steven was giving Gilbert the benefit of the doubt. He told him at their entry to behave himself. So I think Steven was testing him as well to see if he could be a friend. Also he has a card so the Cats know him. Gilbert is now a known quantity as well and it is not good. I think his love life is going to take a major hit. Besides that “shirt”.
umm there’s one missing… Minka an Vashi have no idea…
these guys (Col. s men) are not gonna like this .
also ,, one in buffer..
an really.??? butterflies.!!
