but no claim,, because she is an animal..

I find the one law-enforcement officer’s hand gesture to be Very interesting.
And I believe Gimea may be not quite what the general had pictured her as being…. Also, that he calls her an animal (which really isn’t all that insulting, ask the Lir) but has NO problems with beastiality…
Last item: considering what they are discussing- and long before that- I have been wondering about Ronnie. Remind me of his mental state? I realize he has likely been learning a great deal since his recovery but it was clear he started with something more when he leapt to the defense against those rapists. I’d be curious to learn more about his background.
Remember in the beginning, when Teresa’s Uncle Mark sent all the FBI, CIA, etc. records he could?
Matthew’s people have been sifting through them as they can, but no hits yet. It’s a low priority.
All they have is a (possible fake) first name and a recent photo. Fingerprints and DNA got no hits.
‘beastality’.. oh come on.. thats been around since recorded history (way longer but not recorded)..i mean, recently read an article bout some guy marrying a chicken,,,.!! an in some places , white marrying black is still considered bestality…
Ronnie , i wood say he has all indicators of “Downs syndrome”.. but thats me an i could be wrong… ( an yeah back story would be good… )
Earth has multiple nations, multiple kingdoms within the Empire even. Lamia has separate nations, and it seems likely other human worlds do too. I still don’t see why the Empire is forcing people who haven’t had experience in forming political entities larger than clans, possibly ever but certainly not for generations, to be a planet-spanning kingdom. Come to think of it, the only constituents of the Empire we’ve heard of so far all call themselves kingdoms. Is it likely that smaller areas calling themselves principalities or duchies outside a kingdom will be granted membership in their own right at any point? Is there a lower limit on the size of a ‘kingdom’? Is Jerico part of a ‘kingdom’? I suspect the last answer is no, Jerico is the equivalent of ‘crown lands’ and ruled directly by the Emperor.
Granted he’s a fresh fumiant who deserves what’s he’s getting, but he knows he’s going to die whether he wins a fight against the slave or not. In his place, I’d probably not give them the satisfaction. Maybe that’s why they chose warclubs. It would be hard to kill himself quickly with that morning star he’s holding. Hard to swing your arm with force where it ends up doubled at the elbow. Actually, I think I’d try very hard to make a surprise attack on the one I perceived as the leader, and hope I got lucky before I went down.
Spinning this ‘war’ as a ‘revolution’ instigated by the natives of Catia rather than a sneak attack by an unknown outside entity is a higher moral ground, by far. The more truth they give it, the better.
There’ll be some answers (and hints of the future) starting with the next page.
But…
The population of Catia is fairly small, and limited to one land mass for now. There are only about 200 clans of 120 or so.
Their numbers will grow and spread to other land masses once free of slavery and with reliable transport and communication,
but the clans will remain about the same size for internal social reasons.
But because of their clan-centered society, sub-kingdoms would be an artificial construct.
The reason for a planetary Kingdom is more for representation within the Empire and things such as trade with other Kingdoms.
It’s going to be a fun ride as the Cats figure things out.
All is subject to change until it’s actually shown in the story, I am open to suggestions.
kingdom size… In The Adrian Empire (national) , the Kingdom of Umbria (local) , requires a 100 members to stay a kingdom,, an we have 3 subdivisions (2 lands (baronies) an a Duchie.), plus 4 houses …
Empire forcing Clans,, IF the Native American tribes (clans) had rallied under one flag (Empire) then the USA would not be the same today.!!!
also helping them with the war,, or fighting the war then give it to em.. look at the US , today,, over 60% of the population never had to fight for it, so now they think they are entitled to it.!!
One person suffered the greatest insult, thus had the greatest claim.

Wait: shouldn’t that be a Round table………..?
As I said earlier, there are reasons for the seating order. Feel free to speculate.
I’ll explain later in the story.
