Left home at 0800 for a long backroads motorcycle trip. Just got back. It was good.
Met a lot of people, including the Police Chief in Oliver, GA. Good man. He has a Suzuki cruiser.
Also a Sheriff’s deputy in Allendale, SC. Another good man.
Got lost a couple of times, part of the fun.
Reaffirmed my belief in good people.
Oh, and the last two comments on TGW-429 about Jeina, the tortured Cat?
Vote incentive.
Nice outfit. From the locations of the rapier and gauche, I assume she’s a leftie? I note the necklace, and wonder at its significance after the policeman’s reference to The Book. Time will tell.
I just posted something that appears to be lost in the ether, so if it shows up again, forgive the redundancy.
I know Teresa is scrambling the forces she can deploy most quickly to the emergency site, and she’s chosen well, but it occurs to me that for the longer campaign to free what’s left of the kid’s town and the mountains around it, the Empire has at its disposal one of the deadliest forces trained in mountain and guerilla warfare the world has ever seen, the Gurkhas. If they will come, it will take a while to transport them from Nepal, unless some are already closer training (or training others) for the Catia invasion, but a platoon or so of Gurkha paratroopers dropped at night at strategic points would be very effective. I can’t think of anything that would come close.
Except Apache. And I don’t think the Empire has a lot of them, yet.
That’s a great suggestion!
I was wondering where they’d scrape up the manpower, I’ll use your idea.
Everyone involved so far will be boarding ship for Catia in a few days, and won’t be available.
Thanks, Jochi.

Great vote incentive, Petercat. She looks good (Interesting) enough to become a perennial character.
Wait until she and Miral meet.
Miral’s going to want an eyepatch of her own!
