I missed or forgot that line, “All of the races
were created on the same planet.” Maybe that
explains why there are so many humans on a
“dragon planet” — if Earth even is one. There is
evidence that both dragons and humans originated
on this world, just a lot longer ago for the
dragons, and we haven’t seen any other races to
make that judgement yet.
I suspect that Earth was populated by all the critters in the fossil record,
when the planet was terraformed, it killed off most of them. The dragons
found themselves with a high density world that while it was nice, the
lack usable land plus their disinterest in staying in one place gave the
queen the great idea of putting humans there and to see if they would
“grow up” faster than the others. Which they (mostly) did. I can’t help
but notice that the fall and the rise of Jerico’s navy seemed to peek
their interest a bit…
