When we moved into this area, they didn’t do the “day light
savings time” BS, not 2 years later they threw it out there.
For 2 years straight my wife and I enjoyed driving in the
daylight to and from work during the summer months. It’s
been about 20 years since, and I STILL forget it!
I didn’t know the time had changed until I got up Sunday morning.
I got up at sorta my usual time (0530 or so) and was doing some
reading on my tablet. Then I happened to glance at the time
display in Kindle. 0700!? No way I had been up an hour and
a half! Then I looked at a clock beside my chair – 0600. A quick
search gave 10 March for time change. Fortunately I have
several clocks which set themselves by the NIST.
Only had to manually update 3 clocks. Easy.
One of my clocks sets itself. But it only uses part of the NIST radio
signal, with its own bit of firmware to detect the date of Standard
vs Daylight changes. Several years ago, Congress changed their
algorithm for when the cutover happened, but there is no way to update
the clock’s firmware. So I have to manually change the clocks Zone
at the “new” cutover, then a couple weeks later un-change the Zone
when clock thinks the “old” cutover should have happened.
Good thing I seldom have early schedules on Sunday :}

I’m surprised it’s not a “cat-suit” jammies! HEHEH…
Nothing sux more than having a need greater than
supply.
I had a hunch they will target the Bun’s planet,
they are suppose to be “primative” and such.
Motha’s PTB might think the Buns had attacked
the platforms etc… Not to mention the 4 missing
SS ships. I can’t WAIT to see the look on their
faces when they show up and their missile
detection systems have mental breakdowns!
This is one of the drawbacks of having the kingdoms somewhat
specialized and interdependent. Commerce.
Most of the Empire’s pharmaceutical and medical research is
concentrated in the Kingdom of Colombia. Normally it’s not
a problem, each Kingdom keeps a sufficient stock on hand.
But when there’s a sudden need, filling it can be a bit slow.
This entire adventure started as a private motorcycle vacation,
but then Teresa asked them to show the flag in the newly
liberated territories, so everything is being done on short notice.
True, I seen how much of a headache it was at the factory too,
there really was only 4 output lines, the rest made the parts
for those lines to make the finished parts, if any of the supply
lines had a break down, the next shift had people sweeping
floors waiting for the pieces… Each one did have ship-able
parts, but for the most part all just fed those 4.

Nothing awakes the body, brain,
and senses like a good cup of coffee.
There are times when I get to work,
and am making a pot, and wonder,
“how did I get here?”
Minka reminds me of myself, “follow the smell of the coffee…”
I guess I should be grateful energy drinks came much later,
otherwise I’d be like my son, he buys them by the case these
days! Just as well. doc told me I had to cut down, something
about stressing my kidney, crap… well NOW I’m stressed!
Drink tea?!? grumble…. ICED tea maybe…
I’m a tea drinker. I drink like 2 liters of tea a day.
When I was in USA the most frustrating part was lack of good tea…
I learned quick, that when I ask for a tea, I must add _hot_ tea,
otherwise, I was served iced tea. But that tea was awful!
The best tea I could come up with tasted like the
cheapest leftovers in Poland.
Fortunately, I had a colleague from India that
brought some tea with him and it saved me 😉
I’ve tried imported tea a few times, I agree it’s much better.
But on my budget it’s just not practical. The “black leaf” tea
that is common here gives me heartburn and without sugar
it’s nasty!
I knew it was coming anyway, my father and I would go through
6-7 pots a day but he had to quit due to his medications, so
it’s expected. (YAAAAAAAAAWN…….)
One cup my ass!
Being the devil’s advocate for a moment, in a sense Motha Corp is
the aggrieved party here. Those processing platforms are corporate
assets wrongfully appropriated by former employees. Motha Corp’s
environmental wrongdoings on Leporida are a separate issue. Were I
the Empire I would be anticipating an attack in the Leporidan system.
For one thing there is the very real theft of corporate assets.
For another, the Core doesn’t know that the Empire is expecting an
attack and has both trained the Leporida and placed military assets
to defend the system. A fleet to roll over a lightly/undefended system
with copious shock and awe would have a much more difficult time
with a properly defended system. I figure the Empire will set up a kill
zone and proceed to annihilate the Core fleet once it is fully in the
trap. The battle formation for shock and awe is different from the
formation to oppose a properly prepared foe.
I have to agree, taking and using the platforms and the workers
are skirting the line, however, Motha was planning on using those
resources to attack the Empire and to continue the subjection of
Imperial members, so it was a defensive tactic, not an aggressive
one. Rather than attacking core worlds, they are weakening their a
bility to wage war. I’d take that any day over wanton destruction
and death. I’m a fighter, but I don’t like unnecessary killing.
I’d prefer leaving them with a limp and a lisp, oh and an
unreasoning fear of my face 😉
Well, they tried to kill the planet’s population, strip mine the
planet and not caring that the fallout might kill any survivors.
They did succeed in driving the planet’s population underground
and stunt their technological development.
To top it off, this is a planet their own people see as a
paradise to live on because they destroyed the ecosystems
of their own planets.
So even if I see this as an isolated case (which it is not),
I feel no pity for Motha Corp.
see this is where we differ. “Corporates” are Evil an should not exist.!
unless you are a “PTB” you don’t exist, you are easily replaced #. and
“environmental wrongdoing = separate issues.” is part of the ‘corp plan’.
as in, “Nobody that did it” is wrong. an they throw a # in as a sacrifice,.
no PTB loses. they knew EXACTLY what they were doing.! (Ford knew
there was a problem, BUT it is was cheaper to fire the “Lead” and pay
the insurance claims. an claim ‘not our fault’.)
Motha and the other corporations are the real problem, they are the
real government of the core. So taking them down before they can
harm anyone else is a bloodless way to prevent war, not cause it.
We’ve seen time and time again that their “employees” are more
than willing to turn away from them and accept a better way of life!
I’m willing to bet that ALL the core worlds will accept the Empire’s
way of thinking once true evil is snuffed out.
The Empire has never been the aggressor, has never fired the first shot.
They lost their first three platforms because when they entered the
Leporidan system, they received a legitimate order, by a warship that
had been invited by the legal government to operate in the system, with
a Leporidan crew, to stand down for inspection.
Instead, it was the Core ship that opened fire first and was destroyed.
The other ships were then seized as contraband, the spoils of war,
so to speak. Now, the other half of the equation – the theft of six mining
platforms by a Core species, to trade for new ships – is actually an
accepted business practice among the Core… If you can get away with it.
Actually, the Empire isn’t really in control of events in the Bunny system.
Things are happening without a lot of input from them.
I agree, they only want peace and to uplift everyone, (while making
a profit for everyone) while the core’s upper crust only want to
protect THEIR way of life, not everyone’s.
Any group who does the things that the core has done in the name
of control and profit doesn’t deserve to exist, Like when Cap. Flink
went home to get the ball rolling on his plan, the planet’s Eco-system
is WRECKED, it’ll take decades, if ever, to clean up the soup Motha’s
policies have caused. They did that to their OWN people, no one’s
safe. You know it’s bad when your first thought is that if the air filters
are working…
Was watching this, that warehouse fire was BAD,
no fireman could enter that they could only try
to keep things outside the building from catching fire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c07LSQFtBik
