Gary, I’m kinda surprised you didn’t catch the pun in my last comment yesterday. I wasn’t worried about depictions of underaged humans bereft of clothing (although, owing to Catians’ rapid – compared to humans – maturation, Jakia might actually NOT be 18 or older) I just wanted to set up a pun. Kitty porn. Get it? “kiTTy” porn? One thing you can say about Jakia, at least the guys she offed (and the two at the entrance) were looking at some damned nice “scenery” when they died. Damn! Jakia DOES look fine in just her pelt. If most female Catians look that nice, I can kinda see why they might be valuable as “playmates”. Reckon the Doc who engineered them is still around? Or maybe another gene engineer is around (okay on one of the slaver worlds) who is good enough to correct the original guy’s hateful engineering of female Catians’ nether anatomy. It probably wouldn’t help for current Catians but maybe it could work for the next generation. And who knows? Just maybe – down the road (hint hint) – something could be done to let those who wanted to do so to have a little “adjustment” that would let them be “with” a human painlessly. I know there are already several “mixed” couples on Terra who would probably want to be able to “consummate” their relationship. Whatcha think, oh storyteller? I was thinking more on the lines of a genetic “adjustment”. Some scientist theorize that genetic adjustments could be made by using a virus as a vector to splice new gene sequences into a living creature. I have read stories where such adjustments can be made to alter existing structures on adult anatomy. I got Miral’s point and I even somewhat agree with it; but I can also see Terrans and Catians forming emotional bonds that transcend physical differences.
I figured there might be surgical options but I would expect them to about as realistic as M2F transgender. Gene splicing could produce a real, “natural” adjustment. But is your world, O Bard, and your word is supreme. I’ve been thinking about future plot lines which I will gladly share privately. In any case I shall continue to read TGW until either you cease to tell the story or you permanently bar me from reading it.
