Looks like I know what I’ll be doing after (if ever)
I finish the big freighter. Hope PC is more forth-
coming with details. I flunked mind reading 101.
Julie, Julie, Julie… Johnathan was military, no doubt had a whole
new life made for him after he retired. Never a good idea to poke
a tiger, even if he’s old and slow!
I remember well, my god daughter’s second hubby was a wanna-be punk,
always talked about how bad he was. At one point he challenged me to
an arm wrestling match, thinking I’d back down or refuse, BIG mistake!
Yeah my back was trashed and my legs barely worked, but the rest of
me was just fine… I still remember his face when not only could he
not move my arm, but was loosing ground quickly HA!
He was very respectful after that 🙂
Sounds interesting, slow paced shipping vs speedy delivery.
One stable and reliable, the other with some risk. they sound
a bit like the Pride when they started out, small, fast,
well armed ship with only the basics in mind.
President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal B Woodman Domestic Violent Extremist SuperStraight
Think large ships, bulk regular supplies,
routes and schedules, an interstellar “Costco”.
Versus a “Balto”, small, fast, emergency,
life saving, irregular routes, to out-of-way
locations.
I have a feeling that “Julie my girl” will be getting
a visit from Cpt Villines very, very soon.
Not sure if Julie intruded into Imperial secure areas,
but the Empire might even recruit her.
And we readers will be getting some great backstory.
(Yes, just WHERE did Johnny Walker get his money to
buy Barnwell to begin with? (TGW-1174))
Johnathan is a very smart man, it isn’t rocket science to figure out
what he did with his pay while in service, and after when he retired
from it. I have a hunch he was a medic in a black/special ops, with
hazard pay. We know this because of the events with Ryder starting
on http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-846/ plus the mention of
Afghanistan “desert dancing” in the Members content.
I’ve been (re)watching “The Expanse”. I was (still am) dazzled by
the CGI models. I wish I could do a quarter as well. Anyhow I’m
in season 4 now and a lot of the action takes place on a
frontier world called “Illus” or “New Terra”. I noticed yesterday
that the settlement on Illus has shipping containers sitting
around being used as shelters etc. They’re HEXAGON shaped!
Just like PC wanted me to build (I was noodling octagons).
The ones on the show are roughly the same size as the ones
in the real world but are definitely hexagonal. Cool, eh?
That’s another Dog in the room with Julia, isn’t it?
The hair is the wrong color and the ears aren’t black on Roxy.
I wonder how many are studying on Earth now?
Think of the Empire as the second Diaspora. While member worlds will
remain primarily home for their own species, interstellar travel and
immigration is encouraged among all, following Teresa’s reasoning
for not allowing the Romani clan to become isolated. http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-736/
This is also why cheap interstellar travel via passenger pods is so vital.
I had a hunch, but I thought I’d ask. Jerico must be growing with
leaps and bounds, every time there’s a new addition to the Empire,
there’s always going to be new immigrants and students coming to Earth.

Parallels with today, is our education industry one huge psyop?
Post-war era
“During the post-war occupation of Japan, the Japanese publishing
industry was rebuilt under initially strict guidelines. Stories
focused on war, combat, and most competitive sports were banned
with the aim of discouraging belligerence and hindering the use
of manga for pro-Imperial propaganda.”
Or am I just weird?
I believe when the allies took over Japan’s government, they forced
those restrictions and guidelines to avoid a repeat of Germany from
both WWI and WWII. Installing a democracy with non-violent aim at
any real-world themes in any entertainment. And a strong anti-atomic
view at defense!
One reason the anime GATE struck me as so weird. Watching the Japanese
honor the JDF — can’t call the Japanese Defense Force an army or navy
still — and see them in action against a foreign enemy in their land.
Still fun to see the locals say “Why aren’t you conquering us?” and hear
“That’s not our purpose. We protect.”
They did embrace the fantasy area with martial arts, super men
able to do magical acts that no one in the real world could do.
China copied much of it, which brought us real skilled user like
Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan. Martial arts isn’t about fighting, it’s
about knowing oneself and controlling those urges to fight. A
fight started in anger is one that’s lost before it’s begun.
Something they forgot when they started the war…
ok,, it seems “Everyone” has forgot.. Japan has had the same hierarchy
since before the time of Christ.! it wasn’t till the 1800’s the Japanese
nobility tried to ‘modernize’ the country and failed miserably. the
introduction of democracy at the end of WWII failed.. the Japanese could
not grasp the idea.!
fighting: Japan has had the longest standing military ever. back during the
middle ages when some country would throw together an army for whatever
reason,. Japan already had one, an had one for about a thousand years.
the Japanese army started around the 5th century and had been the same
till the 1800’s.!
I know they were more than able to defend themselves and such, I didn’t
know that the attempt to create a democracy had failed, The Japanese
are like many of the eastern countries, too used to an imperial government
and couldn’t deal with the change. That’s not the only country that has/had
that issue as well. In many ways, they act just like the slaves did when
they were freed on the human ship, http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-214/
“What do we do? Who will take care of us?” and so on.
There were many changes I noticed in Japan, much of it was caused by fear
that was due to the allied forces worried that we’d have another Germany
on our hands where it would wait to recover, then rise again. It still cracks
me up when I learned that the US helped them to recover, taught them how
to be more efficient in their industry, and they surpassed us in to the degree
that we had while ours slacked off greatly. Add in the recession we had in
the mid to late 70s due to the better steel they were making over ours…
Yeah…
Japan has always have manga and hentai to entertain their people, it became
part of their culture. And to cater to the image they had of American women,
Even the fantasy stories of magic and mayhem was focused on the shape and
behavure of had a certain type of men and women. Far from the truth of the
matter. Their discovery of the “round eyes” at first got their fear going, and
after the war, they embraced us and what we meant to them. That and the
fear of another bomb attack… No other country in the world fears the bomb
more than Japan, with good reason.
did you know: the reason the MC has round eyes or a different hair color?
is to stand out from the rest of the “Black hair or Black eyes”!
a secondary of the hair color,. is to give a sense of “personality”. IE:
blond = MC , red = angry/fighter , blue = thinker/smart.
President Elect Toxic Deplorable Racist SAH Neanderthal B Woodman Domestic Violent Extremist SuperStraight
I’ve seen a few that were black or blue haired (that were men) that was the MC.
Most times it’s the girl MC that has blond hair. Take the anime Imuyasha, He was
white haired, but the girl he got bonded to (and fell in love with) was black haired.
That’s when I noticed that she was quite tall and shapely, then I heard she was
only 15 and it made me sick. All her classmates were pretty much carbon copies as
well.
hence “secondary”,,
black = real world / serious , white = mysterious / powerful.
also,, age of consent is 13 in Japan. so…
14 an older is an “Adult” an drawn that way.
I sat and watched a few with my son, back then I didn’t know the age of consent
so I was pretty upset that it was on TV. Not to mention the pantie shots and the
suggestive nature of some of their conversations… My son was 6 at the time
and he got the very wrong idea about girls then! I caught him peeking on my wife
in the shower… “WHAT are YOU doing!?!” he jumps, the door swings open “nothing”
my wife covers up while i shut the door “Where did you get the idea this was ok?
That’s your mom!” “The guy on the show was doing it” “WHAT show?” he rattles
off some anime name… And that was the end of his watching anime until he was
older.
yeah the US is the only prude, about sex..
i remember back in the 80s, watching day time Japanese kid show
(Sailor Moon) commercial comes on about body wash,. actress is
totally nude. and no one cares.! or going to an Onsen (public bath
house / hot springs.) and the whole family is there,, Great grandma
to toddler.! also nude, tho some did put a wash cloth on..
So, it was all a setup? Jonathan decided when to stage the ‘incident’ in his
classroom? That explains how the miscreant’s worldview changed so quickly.
Haven’t figured out who he is now, though. Maybe he was wearing skin dye?
Looks like I know what I’ll be doing after (if ever)

More details will be coming on Monday, Bill.
I’d rather you enjoy the story.
I’ll email you anything that won’t be mentioned, when needed.

Correction: There are SHIPPING containers visible.
I think I have both the crew cab of the big freighter and a dedicated
passenger module complete. Here are some renders from my DA page:

out when they are entered into cannon.
