hehe.. last page,, i wondered WHY, Miral took her left hand off the weapon, an put it on on her hip,,, she palmed the last round…
hehe, they are not dropping their guard,, (is panel 5 a salute.?) you notice that neither of them took their eyes off the other… he hasn’t called it off , so like Kathy said “You only broke One.!” “the fight is not over till your enemy is dead..” or called a surrender.
If so then she must’ve dropped it. In panels 3 & 4 she is holding the blade asshole refers to is in her left hand. As good and as fast as Wildcat is, she could underhand that knife into one of his eyes before he could blink. The bone in our orbits is pretty thin. A sharp knife with an upward trajectory would easily go clean through his eye and into his (what passes for a) brain. He’d be dead before he perceived that she had thrown the knife.
like the knife, (which you don’t see.) she put the shell in a “pocket” (or whatever she is using to hold stuff, but is too time consuming to draw all the time..).
IF she did not palm the round,, then she wont throw the knife, don’t want gun going off as he falls, as she is right in front an the girl she is protecting is behind her..
also this is Miral… as we have seen 3 times before, when it is one on one, she pre-furs to get close an personal.!
saw that, (panel two).. no what i meant was , way back in TGW-692, panel 3. she removed her riding leathers, But listed Knife as a weapon,, so i assumed, that you did Not show (draw) it, (like her hand cannon, that she IS suppose to have on her at all times.)(but would be a pain to draw all the time…)
Thanks, Catman. Great article. {one finger salute!} THAT! to any/all who scoff at American exceptionalism. Yes, our troops sometimes commit what some call “atrocities” (although to this day I think Calley got a raw deal) but if you put sane men in insane circumstances you should not be surprised when they commit insane acts. I personally know a Gulf War vet who – along with some of his buddies – may have used bayonets to slaughter a group of Iraqis who just might have been trying to surrender. Lest you judge them too harshly, the guys had just left Kuwait city and had personally seen the aftermath of the multiple heinous acts that the Iraqis had worked there. Talk about “righteous indignation”. Those guys felt it – to the Nth DEGREE! Yes, our troops may occasionally go off the beam but you seldom hear of the wanton acts of rapine, slaughter and looting by them. For the troops of just about ANY OTHER NATION that is most definitely NOT the case. It is especially so for Japanese. The whole basis for correct, proper, andMORAL conduct is the fact that MISconduct will reflect badly upon one’s family – which is the ultimate sin in Japanese culture. There is a saying in Japan that, “A man away from home has no family.” Considering that, one should not be surprised to read/learn of Japanese troops committing the most heinous of atrocities. Consider also that in classical Japanese thought Gaijins (literally “foreign persons”) were/are not considered quite human. The two principles together make for the possibility of really uncivilized, unethical (to our eyes) and dishonest dealings with non-Japanese.
American exceptionalism – a concept you can (or at least COULD at one time) believe in.
I do believe there is one arrow left. She had three and shot two. I also think there is more to Ginny than there is to her girl friend. I think Ginny already has him in her sights.

By the way, that’s his knife. He dropped it when he ran for the shotgun.

Once she removed her leathers (heat is the enemy of the Cats), she had no place for the knife.

Civilized nations are unique in that their leaders do not approve of atrocities.
Had to go way back: http://thegentlewolf.net/comic/tgw-104/
