I like the facial changes in the last two frames and the ears seem to stand up a bit more in the last one. Spike almost got a steak knife where it would hurt, then his words registered. Great job. The chair is still there but she might hurt herself standing so fast.
Yeah, he couldn’t come through that unscathed, but he’s alive, and could get a rather advanced prosthesis… (He’d better get a good arm, or they will have a VERY ticked off cat girl on their hands!)
Earlier in the story a young soldier got his foot blown off and his prosthesis is very good. He is a Lieutenant or was the last I remember. I just can’t remember his name. Darned old age will do that some times.
So, a great reason for not crowing on the rare occasions I guess right. I guessed WAY wrong here. No ten or twenty chapters, no new sapient species, just a miraculous survival we will soon have explained. Imperial tech has improved since Gupta lost his leg. We could be talking Six Million Dollar Man, we cold be talking Cobra. (Yes, I watched old anime back in the day.)
Incidentally, Petercat, I read your treatise on the perfect government for the US to my wife, and her response was to suggest we try to convince you to run for President. Sure as heck would be preferable to what the Major Parties have offered us these last several elections. Grassroots, anyone?
