I’ll try a comment as well. Feel sorry for Miral, but when calling for fire at danger stupid, (right on top of you..) well I know of a couple of MOH winners that got their medals posthumously for that. and in protection of a clan, and a platoon against a company of troops. best she can do is live her life and remember him always
It didn’t even occur to me until now that they have the same name — or is Kathy just Kathy and not short for Katherine? I know for Katherine the diminutive will be Kitty, so people won’t get confused.
Yeah, Kelly should get a medal for this. Even if it is revealed in about ten or twenty chapters that one of the other sapient species as yet undefined are Trolls, and there are a group of them on Catia spying on the humans, who happened to have a tunnel under Kelly’s position and pulled the last three down into it just because they wanted it explained why humans were fighting WITH Cats FOR Cats against other humans. Sorry, wild speculation as I was thinking about this story last night. And we really have no reason to think the other sapients are beings we would regard as mythological, other than the only ones we know about are dragons.
@Catman, I tried to reply to your question of “Have I killed the comments section again?” with “Short answer is ‘Nope.'” Tried it twice, in fact Neither response is visible to me. If you or anybody else can see ’em sing out. I’ll try simply posting a general comment.
If I were grieving a lost loved one and somebody had spoken to me like Melissa did to Miral, within a very few milliseconds (Cats have significantly faster reflexes than do we humans) Melissa’s nose would have been splattered all over her face (and Miral’s left hand broken – along with Melissa’s nose) and four bloody stripes would have “appeared” diagonally down Melissa’s left cheek. Irrespective of motivation, Melissa’s “shut the feck up and live with it” (or perhaps “Suck it up and soldier on.”) was entirely inappropriate. As one well acquainted with grief (both parents, a younger sibling, a stillborn – due to a monumental fuck-up by an asshole who failed to realize that the initials after his name are “MD not GOD – grandson, and numerous foster children when I as a housefather at group children’s homes) I can tell you such attitudes are NOT helpful. Thumper’s Mother’s sage maxim unquestionably obtains. Nobody gets to to decide how somebody else grieves. FEKKING PERIOD!!
I hope Miral will be alright. She has a lot of support and now she will be able to confront her demons and hopefully not kill too many of the army. I believe the whole platoon should get medals, maybe not all will be posthumous.
One of my nieces’ proper name is “Katherine Elizabeth” but she has always been called either “Katie” (like Maureen O’Hara’s character in “McLintock”) or “Katie Beth”. So “Katherine” could also be long for “Katie”. I’ve also known a couple of (conventionally plumbed) people called “Kat” whose proper first name was “Katherine” as well as a few called “Kath”, “Kit” and “Kittie”, “Kitty” (Amanda Blake in “Gunsmoke”?) and “Kathy(or “ie”). In my experience It is double first cousin to impossible to know what a person’s proper name is from their nickname. When asked for my first name I am frequently corrected to “William” when I respond with “Billy”. Sometimes I have to show my drivers license to prove that my legal first name truly is “Billy”. But if the characters in question’s creator says their proper names are respectively”Katherine” and Kathleen, that ends the discussion.
Aha, Message to the Army SURRENDER or DIE. You better choose right as I’ve a very itchy trigger finger.
Have I killed the comments section again?
short answer is, Nope.”
I don’t see any comments, but I’ll try one.
Thank you.
Hello Mr. Cat.
I’ll try a comment as well. I hope her new effort will put some of her pain away. She does have a lot of support, but what her mind knows vs what she feels is a lot different.
Nope, working now.

“Kathy” is short for Kathleen. Not that anyone ever calls her that.
“Katherine” is long for “Kitty”.

I wonder how Kitty is the only one who noticed Kathy as a dragon?

I wonder how Kitty knew Kathy was a dragon. No-one else seems to notice. Oh yes I remember now even Robert mentioned her eyes in the cave.
Don’t know why but I can log in but I cannot seem to be able to comment.
I wondered how Kitty knew Kathy was a dragon and then I remembered Robert at the cave remarked about her eyes.
I wonder what Miral has up her sleeve besides an itchy trigger finger, which she will control.
Able to comment I hope
No comment yet???
Thank-you PC
