I could really use some suggestions, re: Just what do knights do?
What’s their job description?
As to weapons choices, well… He’s being trained by Cats, and Cats fight dirty.

Catman, I only know of two ways to fight – to win or to lose. I prefer to win. Actually my folks (completely unintentionally) conditioned me to fight to win. Growing up they didn’t want me fighting. They taught me it was dishonorable to hit a girl or to hit/fight with someone smaller than I was. They forbade me from fighting,period. If I got into a fight (a not uncommon thing for most boys in the 50s and 60s) period I got a whipping when I got home – usually with a razor strop. It didn’t matter who started it if I got into a fight, I got a whipping. Accordingly, I tried to walk away from or talk my way out of a fight first. If the other guy was insistent on getting into a fight, I figured, even if he was smaller than me, the fact of him starting something indicated that, so far as he was concerned, we were the same size. Anyhow, if a fight was unavoidable I figured that I better fight to win otherwise I got my ass whipped twice in the same day!
mostly the same for me,, 60/70’s an beating/whipping, an just from my sperm donor.. an i was/am the smallest.. it wasn’t till my brother (adopted) came back from the Marine’s, an taught me to fight an stand up for my self , at the age of 13.
originally,, they were your elite fighters,, ‘the best of the best’.. BUT, after the crusades, and the black death. they became elitist snobs, rich nobles with nothing better to do…
now.. in your case, ‘Warrior of the People’. — think ‘ judge dread, texas ranger, an knight of the old code..’ rolled into one .. cop/police can only arrest you, then you go before judge.. a Knight can do all that right there.. they only answer to the Empress/Emperor.. example, same situation with Ronnie,, if as a cop, all he could do was arrest them an fight back IF they attacked him, then get medical aid to victim,, but as a Knight, kill or subdue , to quickly aid the victim..
oh and as in Ronnie’s case the Title is only Earned.! never given or bought…. IE: if i become a squire,, and hang out a while ill soon be a knight… no… it has to be Deeds , not time in service.. (took me 3 years of deeds to git my knight hood.!)

now for every one else,, because twc is stupid an does this every 1st of the month (jump comics all over the map..) if the votes are NOT kept up, after bout a week (maybe sooner) T.G.W. will be thrown back into the pits.. prolly bout 300’s..
now mind you.. i have been tracking bout 25 comics the last 3 months an after bout a week they go back to normal (so 190’s for this) .. BUT if the vote count is high , during the “test” , then they stay at new spot..!!!
It’s strictly by current vote tally, although I’m not sure how ties are broken.
At the start of each month, everyone’s vote tally is reset to zero. So ranking will be unstable until enough are accumulated to average out for time of day and time of week.
You had a bunch of readers, including me about 6:30 CDT, registering votes earlier than other comics, so your position went up (after my vote you were #27 or so) until those other votes came in. It will even out in a few days.
So far today I’ve gotten twice as many votes as on an average day, and I wish I knew why.
I usually get kicked off by 0600.
I’ve also had more visits from the TWC link, which is normal when TGW is on the first page.
I’ve got to put up a Patreon or Paypal link!
.. just a personal request.. about your knights. please don’t let them fall in to ,, “A real Knight only uses a Sword an shield.”.. BS..

It’s at 77 now. I usually pick up a few new readers when it’s in the top 100.
