Odachi (Japanese long sword) not katana,, and that is the only long sword, here.. long swords were very rarely carried on the hip, (too long an drag on ground…) (handle is all wrong for a heavy rapier..)
the way she dressed before the fall,,, i would say yes.. tho prolly the katana (cuz Kathy) ,, kinda surprised she isn’t using a saber (Shashka) with her back ground…
Yeah, I was wrestling with the longsword hilt on a blade that was too short (and both hilt and sword are too light for a longsword, but then so is she), and I would have had to look up the word odachi and was feeling lazy. I thought maybe it just looked that long because of her height. Still, the sword on her belt is going to interfere with her movements if she uses the odachi properly, so the combo is just for show, like the sci-fi blade to her left. I’m just curious as to what she is trying to present.
Wait, present. That’s my current theory. The bare blade is to be presented to a hero, or used to knight him, or both.
.. ok im guessing cat used stock swords… cuz the sci-fi blades are Kit Rae , sword of darkness. (mine is all black..)..
also gonna go with your knighting.. if it was a presentation ,, where are the accessories.. (scabbard, belt, harness..) and when knighting, the biggest blade you (the royal.) can use (to show off your strength) is used.. an then you have the rarity of the Odachi ,, that makes me believe she may know the basics, but not fully trained…
then size is relative.. Bilbo’s short sword ‘Sting’ ,, was a dagger to just about every one else,, an because of her size, my partners claymore/zweihander is used as a long sword to her.!!
