wait.!! what… you are making it very hard not to read ahead.!!!
he can’t have it that easy.. oh wait ,, wheres the gate,, like they have at the front… or other signs.! , have to have “Posted No trespassing.” or the tress have have a visible Purple mark on em.. .. wow.. nightmare time.. similar instance, where i got shot.!! (with an target arrow) , was hunting on public game land, an the guy shot at us. because he said we trespassed, but there was no posted signs.. later, he went to jail, and we found out the closest of us, was still 20 feet from his property.
oh debt bondage… which is still common in a few third world countries ..
ha, found it.. but ill reply here, not on current page.. what did i miss…. at the start they are 25 meters in the grounds… “That is warning sign”. not a boundary marker..
OK, I did NOT see that coming, oh storyteller. I din’t see that coming at all. But having a bit of knowledge how Catman’s mind works, I suspect that all is not as lost as it seems. Do the rules say anything about what happens if the prey takes a step or two over the boundary line and for some unknown reason chooses to take a couple of steps backwards? Inquiring minds want to know.
Debt bondage is barbaric – AND stupid. If you take away everything someone has and throw them into prison, how the hell are they ever going to be able to repay the debt? Texas incarcerates dads who do not honor their child support obligations (no alimony here) but only for a short time to give them a taste of what is waiting for them if the don’t even TRY to pay what they owe. Now, on the other hand, if debtors are sold into slavery and the proceeds applied to the debt THAT would make sense. It would still be evil and barbaric but these ARE “slavers” after all.
Surely he would have been told what the goal like looked like. I tend to agree this is just a bit too ambiguous. Unless there’s a row of these signs every 20 feet or so. Even then, I’d have expected a strand of barb wire or something. But having him stop and lose because of a false, decoy indicator, that’s almost as unsatisfying as having him escape. I think I’ll wait and see what the REAL answer is. I’m sure it will be better than any of my guesses. Oh, what is the little orange-tan thing high on Miral’s right thigh in panel 1 and between her boot and the back of her left knee in panel 4? Laser sight for a drone?
Hereditary debt, hereditary indenture. Yeah, not too different from slavery. Speculation: the brothers help the Legion invade the Lodge. Their cargo will have already been offloaded to make room for surprise troops. With the prior owners of said cargo dead or enemies of the Empire, salvage rights go to the brothers and the Legion (or Empire) equally. Which lets them pay off their debt (assuming any debtors survive). Yeah, probably not.
The orange showing through her pants leg is skin, where she fell through the branches.
(Actually, it’s called poke-through in 3D art, but the explanation works!)
Actually, all that he has managed to do, is not get killed, today.
Let’s not forget that he is now on record, (News at Six with Video) as a violent murdering rapist, who has also just sacrificed his so called Friends in order to save his own life.
While he can now walk away, the question is where to?
From the perspective of going back to ‘Civilization’, certainly that’s now a short lived prospect.
I doubt the parents are going to want the social stigma.
Employment would now be problematic, at best.
Then there is the problem with the Cats or any other offended party, seeking vigilante justice.
So, I can see his future being quite sad, brutal and given his attitude and morals towards life and others, short.
Reputation and Success.
Success is often not what you expected it to be. Reputation is often a double edged sword.

Ah, so close…
But you missed it.

Once he steps across it’s over, he could turn around and go back the way he came if he wanted to.

Reputation is what others know about you.
Honor is what you know about yourself.
